I think the whole thing is overrated, I see absolutely no problem with nudity on the beach, either topless or fully nude. The major need is to ensure that everyone can enjoy the beach resource, which means segregating those who wish to be nude from those who do not....some people are offended by the sight of the nude human body, so we should have consideration for their views and have places where clothing is required. We should also have places where nudity is the norm. On the nude part of the beach, well, anything goes in my mind, if it offends you, don't go there or don't look.

If there is no restriction as to going topless, then there should be no problem. If there is no restriction as to going nude, then anyone can shed their clothes. I've been to several beaches on the Mediterranean where clothing has been an optional choice. Once my uptight, middle class wife got used to it, she only wore a t-shirt and shorts to the beach and stripped once she got there. My sons were young and naked people never bothered them. Then my oldest at the age of 8 noticed his first NAKED LITTLE GIRL. He said she looked funny because she didn't have any hair 'down there.' I said, "WELL, NEITHER DO YOU. You both will when you grow up." His reply was, OH, OK. And went back to playing in the sand.
Some people should NOT go naked at the beach. he he

Personally I think its very old fashioned! I don't think it is either right or wrong except in some circumstances. I spend a lot of time in India and in the touristy areas I have seen some women going topless. In these circumstances I think it is very disrespectful and makes the person doing it look very foolish and ignorant. The women always bleat when local men look at them as well which I think is very unfair. The tourist police do ask them to cover up if they catch them but they are usually too busy engaged collecting their bribes from all the peole with businesses on the beach.

It's neither right or wrong, because there's no moral or value judgment associated with such a simple and harmless activity. I go to the nude beach and enjoy being naked there and in other appropriate places, such as at friends' pools or just lying out in the sun in the yard.

Is that right or wrong. To me, it's neither, the same as going to the store for groceries or reading a book is neither right or wrong. Behaviors are judged either right or wrong for a number of reasons, but usually because of their positive or negative impact on others.

Lying naked or topless on a beach where such behavior is legal and appropriate (as at the nude beach where I go) doesn't impact anyone else. Therefore, it's a neutral action, neither right nor wrong.

At least, that's my opinion. Others, of course, may differ.

Men are always topless of the beach, but for some reason, at least in the US, women can only be seen topless w a baby attached. No boobs allowed unless of course they are working then whip them out wherever and whenever -WHATEVER!

If its a topless beach then it is ok.

If it is not a topless beach then yeah I think it is wrong.

Community norm. When in Rome do as the Romans do, or at least feel free to do so. Always an individual choice. It depends on the company as well. If it would create an uncomfortable situation for anyone, no. If it can be accepted as simply a refreshing respite feeling the sun where it is not normally felt... Yes.

Don't think it's right or wrong to be honest. Down to personal choice of the individual.
I do, however, think the person should take into consideration their surroundings such as being on a family beach and or pool - unless they don't mind being ogled by youngsters.....
But then that's another debate altogether!
