I have a neighbor that is very obnioxous. The parents have no control over there son who is a teen. He smokes and plays basketball with his friends from mid-night till all hrs! He thinks he is gangster (whatever that is). He his rude, crude and vulger. People say that he is "special ed" and that he is retarted, but he does not act that way at all. He acts very inaproprate and his parents do nothing, they could care less. Since this family has moved into the neighborhood, it has been like living in the inner city. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i work at night and if i make a peep in the hallway of my building someone complains. yet its 8 am and people are working on my building (yelling very loudly in spanish outside). people are rattling the mailboxes. i hear water running through pipes. slamming doors, engines revving, cars beeping...it keeps me awake when i'm trying to sleep. this is not fair. i'm already at a disadvantage by having to work all night. can't i sleep too???? i want to complain just like my neighbors do. but then it would just sound petty.

I was out and about the other day and I heard this couple mumbling about the prices of the clothes in this menswear shop. Why do people buy cheap shoes etc that are only going to last 5 minutes. Why do people buy cheap bottles of red wine (that tastes like cats p++s) when for an extra couple of pounds you can have quality. etc etc. BUT Yet they will get ticked up to the naffs just to have a new car just to keep up with the jones,s. Is it just my imagination or does nobody want quality anymore. Cheers

My friend is having a birthday party for her child turning 1. However this coincides with the weekend before i have finals for 4 classes. I told her i might not attend because i simply have finals.. this is not just a come in your jeans look descent party, its in a fancy restaurant and she is dressing up, and its semi-formal, meaning i would have to spend x amount of hours getting prepared for it.

She is offended and is lecturing me telling me that everyone has things to do and people still go, i am offended by her behavior because we lead very diffrent lives and she doesnt respect my choices.

I would never be offended if she didnt attend even my birthday let alone the birthday of any children i may have.

I have missed friends birthdays and other events before, i dont see why she is making such a big deal about this, especially when its her child and not even her directly.

What do people think? is it obligatory that i attend?

My aunt recently sent me a $5 bill. I am an adult and do not expect gifts on special occasions, and this aunt was never one to send me gifts as a child.

She also sent a letter with this $5 bill, which contained greetings but then rather rudely stated that she had sent my cousin of the same age a significantly larger amount of money.

I suspect that this is related to a fight between my mom and my two aunts. I believe this gift was my aunt's way of rudely telling my mother that she favors her sister (my cousin's mother) over her.

My mother insisted that I send my aunt a nice thank you card. However, I feel that she should not be thanked for a gift which was intended to be an insult, nor do I wish to become a part of the family drama.

Was I right to thank her, or should I have stayed out of the situation?

I'm having thoughts about joining a particualt organization.First one of the members she goes by sexy something, and I went to go meet the members for a meeting, anf she says "I'm going to be the only sexy one here" and then there was another time where she came up to me and asked "How come I'm always mopping when she see me" Then there was another case where we ran into each other and I smiled and said Hi and she told me she likes me after I told some funny joke, and she told me to wipe that smile off my face because she is not my friend..so I should keep that in mind..I had glanced at another member and she yelled" What are you staring at" and I'm like damn.plus there was other girls there that told me that took their hats off to me , because of the fact that I still was trying to become a member..but I got accepted and declined..but now I want to join a different sorority, but everyone says don't do it because I submitted an application to tthe first sorority..

I go to McDonalds and order 4 drinks for everyone in the car. I already have a coffee in the cupholder so I dump it and shake it out and ask the lady to throw it away. She says she is not allowed to throw away customers trash. I say " I am ordering a drink for my cupholder and it is full, you can't throw away this cup?" Who had the bad manners - me for asking or her to toos it or her for refusing?

My next door neighbor has asked me to check in on her dog once a day for the next two months (and occassionally walk him) while she is at work. A couple times I have gone away for the weekend and she has fed my cat. She has offered to pay me $40 a week for this. She didn't charge me when she looked after my cat and I am not sure if I should be doing this for free or accepting the money. I know 2 months is longer then 2-3 days but should I charge someone for just popping in to see how the dog is? A few times I have had to rearrange my schedule to make sure I am home around the time I need to check on him, but even so I am not sure what the right thing to do is. Advise is appreciated

Do you get as annoyed by the Yahoo Answers grammar queens as I do? Don't you agree that it's silly, rude and frankly pretty damned petty, to correct somebody's spelling or grammar in an answer to their question? After all, this is NOT school and we're not getting graded!!!

Hi. When I went restroom in my boyfriend's apartment, I saw a reciept of Hooters in trash box. I know Hooters are not there for having sexual stuff, but (according to my co-workers) the meals are not good, and the reason going there is seeing the "hot" girls, isn't it? I told him not go there long time ago, and he said "Of course not!! The foods there are terrible!!". And he went. What do you think about this? Yes, I know the family with kids going there also, but I am concerning about him going where I said I don't want him to go. Thank you.

I have a very deep respect and admiration for Indian culture and have always especially admired the beauty of saris/sarees. I really want to get one to wear for some formal occasions/dances, but I'm worried that I will offend someone by wearing it because I have no Indian heritage whatsoever.

Hi. I was just wondering if you have got some great ideas for a hen's night. If we were to do a cocktail party is it rude to ask people to pay a nominated amount if they are drinking cocktails e.g. maybe $15/$20. We will be having it in QLD, Australia. All ideas welcome. Thanks!
