It drives me crazy when I am in a public restroom and someone starts singing to themselves? Is it that much fun being in the bathroom! People who humm to themselves while shopping right next to you scare me.

One of my best friends has recently moved.. The place she went had a manager that did not allow pets but he was supposed to be leaving and a new manager that would allow pets was coming to run the place.
She was really upset about giving away her two cats, because she would be able to have them in the future.
I, being too nice for my own good, offered to take them for a while until she could take them back.
It's been a couple of months now. The old manager is still there. The cats are still at my house.
I already had my own cat and I have to constantly keep them separated because my cat will hurt the other two.
This is causing me entirely too much work.
Now she is wanting to pay to have my cat declawed so that her cats can be around her without getting hurt too badly.
this is completely out of hand, but I have no clue how to tell her that the cats have to go.
What is the best way to explain this to her without causing a problem between the two of us?

I've been seeing a lot of questions by guys wondering how to approach women they are interested in, especially if the guy is shy. So, ladies, here is your chance to tell the men of the world which method of approach you prefer, and please be as specific as you can be. Should a shy guy give or send you a card? Do pickup lines work?

And I recently started dating someone, 3 months now, however I didn't realize how much debt he has..When I first met him, the impression he gave me was that he was financially secure and was looking for someone who was the same..little did I know that he has 2 car payments (for an infiniti and a benz) and paying 2 car insurances not to mention 5 maxxed out credit cards. He's recently started asking me to help him pay one of the car payments, insurance and a few credit cards ..what should I do? I feel bad, but at the same time I didn't put him in his situation.. Last month I gave him 200 to put towards his credit card and he got upset and said to me "I know you could afford more, don't you want us to be able to start our lives together" that made me feel really badly especially since I didn't put him in his debt situation. Should I just give him the money or just move on? I feel like I'm being used and don't even realize it.. Any advice would be nice.. thanks :)

My perception is that these places are crowded with uncivilised folk who are loud, rude, bad eating etiquette..etc

What do you think?

At Thanksgiving, my mother politely asked if my sister's large dog could go somewhere other than under the dining room table during the meal. The dog is very large and it's difficult to comfortably put one's feet under the table. Also, the dog has a tendency to lick people's crotches. My brother in law said that the dog likes to sit under the table, and did nothing, so my mom moved to the children's table. Then the dog followed her to that table.

I was pretty offended by his my brother-in-law's behavior and I thought he was showing a ot of disrepect to his guest, his mother-in-law and someone who had come a long way for this meal. Is this my problem?

My lovely neighbor constantly beeps his horn when he arrives home, any time of day or night. It's not just one beep but many.
I thought horns are supposed to be used to prevent an accident.

I was taught as a child, that you should sit up straight and put your napkin on your lap. According to the Nanny Rose School of Etiquette in Medford, NY, the first thing you should do is check to make sure your hands are clean. I thought you were supposed to wash your hands before a meal. I am interested what other people think is the first thing a polite person does when sitting down for a meal.

This is a strange situation. I have a good friend who gestulates with his knife, points it at people to make points and leaves it with the blade pointing at others when he is not using it. I jump every time he swings the knife through the air. In fairness to him, he never actually comes close to hurting anyone and it doesn't noticeably bother others. Is what he is doing considered rude? If so, is there anything polite I can say to discourage him?

Sometimes people say stuff about me and the decisions I made in my life that hurt my feelings. For example, I got married young and I admit it, and people said stuff about this behind my back. I mean, I learned a lot about myself during the time so I don't regret it but I'm going to wait a while before having children. Now people are commenting about that too and saying that I should have kids soon. I'm just in my early twenties and I'm finishing off school so I'm very young and I haven't settled everything in my life yet. Some of the things people say hurt my feelings, how do I not let it get to me?

Who defines what is proper etiquette, good manners?

Do these change over time?

If so, who is the "authority" that decides what proper etiquette is in a given scenario?

What if someone honestly does not agree, based on principle? Should they be considered as rude someone who simply doesn't care?

I used to eat at mcdonalds up until about 3 years ago. I did not have to make a conscious effort to stop. I think my body made the decision for me. But I will still eat at burger king, wendys and even kfc. Is it just me or is Mcdonalds the worst of the worst?

He doesn't have a speech or hearing problem.

Am I right after asking nicely twice to tell him to either stop mumbling or shut the f$^% up.

Because frankly I am getting a little sick of it.

There is a group home in our neighborhood, with three gentlemen who have mental retardation. I was walking my dog yesterday and a neighbor pulls into his driveway with a bag of McMuffins for his family. One of the group home guys just jumps in this man's car and demands: "take me to the train station." The man says, "I'm not going to the train station." The group home dude replies, "But I am! You have to take me." The man says, "I just brought breakfast for my family, so I'm going in to eat it." Group dude says, "Go ahead, I'll wait here." At this point, the man goes in his house and leaves the group home guy in his car. (I kept walking and don't know this ends.)

Anyway, what is the appropriate protocol for removing an individual with mental retardation who has invaded your home or car if they won't/can't understand that they need to go?
