More than likely I would probably laugh....it wouldn't really make me mad.

Age is irrelevant here. If you know of no reason she could have gotten upset with you, why get your stomach acid churning and cause an ulcer? Maybe her ire was with someone else and you just happened to see the gesture or maybe not, maybe she did flip you off, in the grand scheme of things, "ain't no big thing"! When I encounter rude, curt, nasty or upset people, I usually smile, tell them to have a pleasant day or try to enjoy the rest of the day or I just say a prayer that peace overcomes their demeanor. Who knows, maybe someone just cut them off and they took it out on you, fair? NO but it's how we React that we have control over and why should you take on her attitude? A situation like that is always a choice, choose to ignore anger and let your sunshine, your inner spirit control you instead of being controlled by their bad behavior. Like I said, age doesn't matter here!! Go about what you were doing and vow never to be like that now or when you get old! Forget about the incident quickly, don't let it eat at you, look at something beautiful and think of how ridiculous she really looked doing that! Sometimes our elders can learn a few things from our children!

I wouldn't get mad but I'd probably make some sarcastically rude comment to her and then laugh in her face. I used to have a job where I worked with the elderly and some of them are sweet as sugar but some ar just downright nasty mean. ("Awww...how cute....the sweet little old lady can count to one on her fingers!")

Nah, I'd actually laugh. I mean, it's not every so often that you get flipped off by the elderly.

Nope, I would not choose the anger response... I think i'd just assume she had a problem or was senile or something. Just like the silly "gang signs" ppl flash with ther hands, a finger in tthe air might "mean something" but only because we all sort of agree it does. It really does not hurt me, so i'd just let it go.

I don't know if I'd "get made" but if an old lady flipped me off, I'd actually be shocked....and find it funny regardless.

I'm at the point where the middle finger really doesn't faze me anymore. Although, I must admit, it can be pretty funny seeing an old granny pointing her middle finger at people.
