My perception is that these places are crowded with uncivilised folk who are loud, rude, bad eating etiquette..etc

What do you think?

You are prideful. McDonalds is designed for family fun where children are catered to. Some children are quite uncivilized but no fault of McDonalds - check out the parents. You can find loud and rude in the most expensive restaurants in any city.

Some people do not take the same care of eating a hamburger as they do eating prime rib. One is eaten with the hands and the other with a knife and fork. My blue jeans go to McDonalds and my best dress or pant suit go to the Brownstone.

Try a little harder to fit in wherever you choose to eat. Watching people is a lot of fun. We can learn from everyone.

I think instead of shooting down your theory, jennyann's reply reinforces it!! lol!

But unless you are implying that the food will cause "uncivilization" or something, it's a bit of a flawed theory.
Being loud, rude, and lacking in etiquette does not quite make one uncivilized. Plus, it's a bit presumptious to bring up "the type of people that eat there." You're also presuming that readers here will detest associating with "that type of people," whatever they are. And has been pointed out, "that type" can be found at restaurants all across the spectrum. You'll find boorish patrons at the most upscale and exclusive dining establishments, as well as at the hash houses.

Not always. I see the majority of people going to a place where for the most part, meals are still cheaper than other fast food restaurants. I've seen professionals in there, as well as people from all walks of life.

But I definitely believe it was created for the working class with their jam packed schedules and single parents trying to feed their kids.

No, sometimes people are in a hurry and have no time to eat anywhere else. Also, if you think people who eat at those places are fat, they can always work off the food

Absolutely not. I know very well behaved people who eat there and are not like the people who you describe at all. None of the people I know that eat there are like the people that you describe. Unless you go there and see for yourself you will never know. After all none of our perception isn't always rea it looks like.

Just about anyone eats there. I don't anymore , but I used to. It's not about who is or who isn't there. My kids have grown and I only went there for them.

Of course it's loud - it's a kid place. There are lots of quiet places to eat, if that's your preference.

For the most part, yes. However, I have a three year old and we go there a couple times a month and we are NOT that way at all!

I have seen loud, rude people with bad habits at very expensive restaurants. Ever go to a really nice restaurant and the guy at the next table is talking really loudly on his cell phone? I don't think any restaurant is exempt from such people.

Yes...it reflects that they like McDonalds.

I don't eat there, and I don't find them the most ethical company, but it is not right to summarize someone by the sheer fact that they eat there. That is a bit self-righteous.

I guess yeah since most characteristics you listed are those of children and McDonalds mainly consists of young people under 18.
