The bad effects of anger are many, harming both the self and others. A person may swear and utter obscenities, and may hit others, lashing out with no control. It may even lead to killing. The following story contains a lesson.

‘Alqamah ibn Waa’il reported that his father (may Allah be pleased with him) told him: “I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (SAW) when a man came along, leading another by a twisted rope. He said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, this man killed my brother.’ The Messenger of Allah (SAW) asked, ‘Did you kill him?’ He said, ‘Yes, I killed him.’ He asked, ‘How did you kill him?’ He said, ‘He and I were hitting trees to make the leaves fall (so we could use them for animal fodder). He swore at me, so I got angry and hit him on the side of the head with an axe, and I killed him.’…” (Reported by Muslim in al-Saheeh, 1307).

i mean and intend no disrepect. i may not agree with you, but you have the right to believe in what you like. i respect you for at least believing in something.

with that said, how do real christians feel about those that use the christian religion as a front, and to go into other sections of Yahoo and attack people that have done nothing wrong to them? these i speak of throw insults, curse, pass judgement, bascially make the rest of you look foolish. Jesus never did that, right? why do some of you feel that it's ok to do that?

i was under the impression that Jesus spoke of love and unity. that we are all one, and should treat each other as so. he never had an unkind thing to say, but encouraged people to see past their differences and find the common bond, God. or, did i just get it all wrong?

again, I hope i have not offended anyone. i was simply curious about what is generally acceptable for christian behavior.

thanks to all of you.

Hell is a topic often raised here.
If you read my answers you know my view on hell.
I do not want answers if hell is real or not.
What I am interested in knowing is do you think hell is a draw card to a church or a put off .
Yes or no will do but if you want too explain I would be interested.
Please no god is real or not. Just your view on churches that say follow or burn

I mean he was hanging around with those 12 boys for 3 years,
He told John he loved him and never gave Magdalene more than a kiss.
How many 33 year olds have never gotten their leg over once?
If he never did it, would you like to follow his example?
Pretty poor example of how one should live!

i think that this is simply retarded...you dont want others to call you that but why do you call each other that...i think with the whole "burial" of the word, you would be happy, like i know it's not going to stop anyone from using but still...my opinion is if you can call yourself that it's ok for someone else to call you that. Personally i think NO ONE should call anyone that...comments?

...the most helpful to you? If you are a Christian, tell the pagans here the thing about Chrisitanity that has been the best thing about Christianity, the thing that has helped you the most in your life. And Pagans, please do the same about Paganism for our Christian friends!

I'll start. I am a Pagan, and what has helped me most about Paganism is how connected I feel to our beautiful blue and green planet, and how much wonder there is in this life.

THERE WAS ONE QUESTION PRECEDING THIS ONE, so NB:

We have the tables set, food and drinks are being served, and if you haven't already, feel free to share what you will bring to the feast and to say something good and respectful about the other path!

Blessings to all on CHRISTIAN AND PAGAN APPRECIATION DAY!

We often relate our bad experiences with people of other faiths. What I'd like is to hear some of the GOOD experiences!

For me, I have met *amazingly* loving and accepting people at Interfaith events.

Do you have any IRL stories about accepting, respectful people of other faiths?

Men Without Hats - Safety Dance
Ah we can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to, A place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind,
and we can dance or sing

Ah we can go when we want to the night is young and so am I
And we can dress real neat from our hats to our feet
and surprise 'em with the victory cry

I Say we can act if want to if we don't nobody will
And you can act real rude and totally removed
And i can act like an imbecile
I say we can dance, we can dance everything out control
We can dance, we can dance we're doing it in multiple
We can dance, we can dance everybody look at your hands
We can dance, we can dance everybody takin' the chance

"Corpus Christians can drink from the tap once again"

I laughed so hard when I saw this headline in the newspaper this morning that I spewed Coke all over my monitor! Does that mean that atheists and followers of another religion still need to boil their water to be safe?

The headline appeared in the Corpus Christi Caller Times. The city was placed under mandatory "water boiling" orders on Tuesday following the discovery of fecal eColi bacteria in the water supply. This headline announced the lifting of that ban yesterday evening.

I know what they were trying to say, but didn't anyone realize the way it would look at first glance? LOL

The government of the United States is based on ancient Greek and Roman governmental structures. Those governments ultimately failed in the end. The more land and power that they ammassed, the more political unrest occurred and the less control they had. Do you think the same will happen to the U.S.? Why or why not?

And P.S., I realize this has nothing to do with religion, but I am familiar with the people who frequent this section, and would like to hear what they have to say.

Don't try to have my question deleted because that book offends you. It SHOULD offend you. IT, not this question, is the problem.

Assume a situation in which this had to happen. Terrorists are going to kill 500 babies or something, while torturing puppies. I dunno, whatever it would take. Doesn't have to be a religion per se, but that's what most of the options would be.

Me, if every lunch could be like the flat-bread and hommus I just had, I'd convert to Vegetarianism.

Can you prove the original bible wasn't burned. Did Jesus say we should pray in a temple? Who wrote the new version of the Bible? Did Jesus have a son? Do you go to heaven when you die, because the Bible says you don't. Is the Bible true, is there only Mary, Jesus, and God in heaven? Will Humans only be let in the gates after the Rapture and Armageddon ?

Anyone who thinks ancient people were dumb are totally out of touch with what has actually happened.
An ancient man sat down on a stump and wrote the Bible fairy tales and said "this will screw up the future". Is that what i am supposed to believe?
My suggestion is that if you thinks that is the case you take a long walk.
