Most people just say: " Christ died for our Sins".

That's pretty clear, I know that. But in what way would His death save us from Sin?

“I saw in the night visions, and behold, One like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought Him near before Him. And there was given Him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve Him: His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed” (Dan. 7:13:14).

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion, Shout O daughter of Jerusalem: Behold your King is coming to you;…He shall speak peace to the nations; His dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth” (Zach.9:9-10).

“Come and let us return unto the Lord: for He hath torn, and He will heal us; He hath smitten, and He will bind us up. After two days will He revive us: in the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight” (Hosea 6:1-2, see 1 Cor. 15:4).

well i used to go to church until i stopped in 6th grade because my mom let me

and yesterday i finally visited a church and it made me want to be an atheist because i realized the bible was a bunch of bullsh!t because it tells you what your suppose to be and what your suppose to be believe in because these people tell you this is the "right" path and i abesoluty hate the fact they dont accept gays it is disgusting. I think what religons do is they capture the young and poison their minds and tell them what they are suppose to be in life and they cant be their own person [this is not just the gay problem] and all they do is judge you but i want to believe in god and ask him for guidience because i do need it but i just hate having someone telling me what i should be

Why can't they just recieve Jesus (get thier fire insurance) and forget about the Power that they can have by being baptized in the Holy Spirit.
I mean, we really do not need all the blessings that God wants to give us. Do we?

I've taken a lot of crap on this subject before but it's just too annoying. Feel free to add more if you want.

We do not prostitute our bodies on the streets everyday.
We do not all say "Oh, and he/she did this and that in bed, and it was so romantic.
We do not all wear neon pink shirts and tight leather pants if we are boys.
We do not all have one-inch long hair and dress like men everyday if we are girls.
We do not all compare our struggles with the ones of black people, or people of any race, nor do we push our sexual orientation on straight people.
We do not go onto the singles and dating category and curse you all off and call you breeders and disgusting perverts. However, if you come into the gay and lesbian category and completely trash us, we'll trash you right back.
We do not befriend you, and then when we find out you're straight, completely trash your reputation and stop being friends with you.
We do not all rape you in jail cells.

Of course, the answer is yes. This is my silly way of asking a basic question: is my deep respect and admiration for the beliefs and practices of my Jewish and Muslim friends a good reason for me not to convert?

Is my strong belief that my gay brother and gay and lesbian friends/co-workers need to be treated with respect yet another reason to not begin the process?

I mean no disrespect toward anyone's beliefs. My commitment to God, and to serving others, is sincere. I've always been strongly drawn to the Catholic faith. These issues are the main reasons for me not taking the plung.

Thanks for you answer. Peace be with you.

Behold My servant, whom I uphold; Mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put My spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street... A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench” (Is 42:1-3).

“Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert” (Is. 35:5-6).

Personally I do not, but that is because of my former Christian background.

I realize many Wiccans and pagans do believe in evil and demons. I do not for me personally I do know negative energy exists, but have a hard time justifying something like demons. this is just me.

Put Away Christian Things

From the first letter of Paul of Tarsus to the school at Corinth:

When I was a christian, I spake as a christian, I understood as a christian, I thought as a christian: but when I became an atheist, I put away christian things.
Chapter 13, verse 11

Brethren, be not christian in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye christian, but in understanding be atheist.
Chapter 14, verse 20

I was driving to work at 65 km/hour (the speed limit on this road is 60 km/h) so I wasn't going too slow or speeding. The guy in the car behind me is tailing me really really close, to the point where I coudn't even see the front of the guys car in my rearview mirror. The road I drive down is 1 lane only, so he or I couldn't switch lanes.

So I hit my brakes (not hard enough to make my car jump or anything, but enough for him to hit his brakes hard and possibly jump a bit). Then he switched into the on-coming lane, drove next to me, gave me the finger, and then cutt me off and zoomed ahead of me.

Was I wrong to hit my breaks?

I don't have anything against it, but do it in private. What do you think?

I am open, but not in your face about it. Here in my part of Texas a good many pagans have to hide theri beliefs for fear of losing jobs.

I like some secular songs by Artists I know or suspect live UnChristian lifestyles and even some who I know have expressed UnChristian views. I don't want to support them financially, so I download their songs for free.

Is this right or wrong in your opinion?

I'm genuinely conflicted.

Regardless what you believe. Do you study it? Do you know how it was founded? Really? Have you yourself done the research, or do you just believe what others in your group tell you what your religion is? My point is I see people claim a religion they really don't understand. You can tell it by their answers here. I.E. A man claiming to be a satanist said that satanist did not worship Satan. And others claim a religion they don't even follow, or they pick and choose what they like. So again Do you know your religion?

Most, but not all, Atheists at some point were part of the Christian religion. Some, but not most, Christians at some point were Atheist.

Is it safe to assume that an Atheist generally has a better understanding of a Christian mind than a Christian has of an Atheist mind, having more likely experienced both?

This is a question, not an insult. Agree or disagree, feel free to state why.

Thanks in advance.

Here is a quote from a question asking about belief in the end of the world:

"This question keeps popping up a lot lately. YES! it's coming and again, it'll either be 2018 or 2037 based on solid biblical and extra biblical evidence. I just wish it would happen sooner."

I honestly don't get this. The whole "solid biblical and extra biblical evidence" thing aside, lots of people seem to eagerly anticipate this. From my experience the ones who look forward the most tend to mention how tortured the unbelievers will be. I simply so not understand the desire to see so many people tortured eternally. It also seems incongruent with Christ's love. If anyone would care to take a stab at the motivator for this apocalyptic mentality, or the concept of infinite punishment for finite sins, I'd really like to hear your answer.
