I support LGBT relationships and marriage. Equality is a strong force in my mind, and this is not an exception.

I'm a Christian too. ZOMGZ! :P (Just a little satire...)

Any other straight people, that think gay people deserve equal rights? I know I am not the only one. ;)

Helen Keller said, "Life is either a grand adventure or nothing.”

“Be an all-out, not a hold-out.” -- Norman Vincent Peale

Do you agree that when we allow fear and criticism to stop us in our tracks, we give up that grand adventure? What are your thoughts on this subject?

I'm watching the infomercial right now. The entire King James version, both the Old and New Testament, fits on a two-disc DVD set.

One of the endorsements was made by a father who says -- and I quote:

"It was hard to keep the kids interested in Bible studies. But now, we all watch the Bible on DVD. It's not only brought us closer together, but it's definitely deepened our faith."

...O.o I'm sorry, but this is just pathetic.

Those who believe in rebirth say that we are punished or rewarded for the works done in our previous lives....then should there not be memory of previous lives be alive in our mind? When a culprit is punished, or somebody is rewarded, he is explained as to why he is being treated this way.

So when somebody is punished in this life for his previous life acts, should'nt be he aware of his crimes?????

God should be only and one to all. But why Jehovah is the God of Israel only? Why he should chose only Israel as his people/nation?

I was baptised as a Greek Orthodox Christian. I always believed that God was good and religion was one way in which you could be a good person, this is what I was taught as a child. And undoubtedly I am sure that God is good and the ideas enshrined in religion are beautiful, but the way that churches and the bible relays the message I find can be very hurtful at times or even misleading, especially in this time of my life.

I know like all churches that there is and always had been a great degree of stigma and controversy regarding certain issues. Primarily, it seems although it is not discussed the Greek Orthodox church does not approve of gay people (despite news reports of gay bishops and scandals in churches). I am in no way in a position to support homophobia, because in essence it goes against what it means to be a good person, which is a fundamental of Christianity. Why then should there be stigma against a gay person who does no wrong against others and yet is still criticised?

I work at a real estate call center and its the off-peak season right now. I've been at the office for 5 hrs and I've only had 3 calls! Can anyone suggest any productive thing to do while at work? Or maybe some websites that I can check out? I've already tried www.bored.com and I'm bored with it.

as a celtic pagan witch, i am familiar with the idea of reincarnation, but i am not comfortable with the references to summerland. why? because if we are given another turn of the wheel, i believe that will be a gift from the Creatress, mother earth, or Gaia.
to me, personally, summerlands seems like another version of heaven.
these places cannot exist except inside our heads. their 'existence' serves only as a form of reassurance, surely?
perhaps this is because i believe in the powers of nature and her gifts, but i don't think of specific deities as such. i am aware of the many names given to them in reference to rain, crops, fertility etc, but they are merely labels that help our understanding.
when i die, my flesh will return to the earth, my breath to the air, my spirit within the memories of my family and friends.
that is enough for me.
we come from love, and we live in and die in love.
that is all :)
but i do assume i am right. tell me your thoughts please :D
blessed be
)o(

I was in New York city years ago with my parents and we ate at the Carnegie Deli. On the way out the waiter ran out of the doors and thanked us for coming. It took my dad a second or two to realize that he had forgotten to leave a tip for the waiter. How scuzzy was that for the waiter to come out after us? To me it seems kind of nervy.

My mother told me that I was Jewish when I was a kid, but she has no proof. I asked my grandparents on her side and they said that we are not but they will not tell me anything more. My grandmother gave me the name of her grandmother but I looked and found that person does not exist. They are not being helpful. I would like to join the community but I have no proof. Should I just convert?

In Tamil Nadu, the high-low caste based hatred of Hindu religion is so strong that high caste Brahmins deliberately fail low caste students in professional courses like medical, engineering & management ones. Population of low caste people is big there & they were at receiving ends. B cos of dat political parties for their upliftments emerged & state govt had to make a reservation policy to compulsorily give admission to low caste students in professional courses in proportion to their population. 69% seats are reserved for sceduled casts & sceduled tribes irrespective of economic conditions. Even after admission the staff members of high caste try their hands in exam's markings & grades arbitrarily which too is akin to permanent Aryan-Dravidian divide visible everywhere by south Indians harassing north Indians in bureaucracy & prime departments too(ISRO, DRDO& IISc etc to name a few). South Indians go only where their lobby already exists & do gross discrimination & goondaism. Why ?
