Ok...so recently there was a question(a few minutes ago) and I got to thinking...2 years ago(I think) there was a big todo, mainly cause of Bill O'Reilly, that made a big deal out of "Happy Holidays" and not "Merry Christmas"....

But 2 years ago Christmas was also on the first day of Hanukkah...so when both religions were shopping and it wasn't always like shifts(where the Jews would shop earlier because their holiday was earlier). So doesn't it make sense because a lot of people of different faiths came in at the same time to just say Happy Holidays instead of trying to figure out if they're Jewish or not?

Anyway, I'm not offended at anytime when people tell me Happy Holidays because it's not THAT big of a deal...but I didn't like, however, that they weren't allowed to say Merry Christmas...

agree/disagree?

monthly payments and were going to increase them from £25 per month to £36 almost 50%. Since my account has never been in debit I rang them to tell them not to increase my direct debit payments. My question is how many of you have received similar letters and have you done anything about it.Why should they take what would amount to millions of pounds off us Senior citizens in advance for no good reason. It is common practice with all the utility companies.Help your elderly neighbours by contesting it if you can, if they are unable to do it themselves.

I met a person which is a Christian, we had talk about the ISLAM and CHRISTIAN but what i didn't understand it and he didn't give me an idea about it is :
He told me that JESUS is the god ? i asked him where was the god before JESUS and where is the god as long as JESUS is died ( as he said ), when i told him that in the ISLAM we believe that JESUS isn't died and wasn't crossed , he start talking about amny things then he said " JESUS is the GOD and the son of the GOD ", i asked him how can JESUS be two different things ( GOD & son of GOD ) .
he didn't answer me.
now may you answer me that question,
how can JESUS be the GOD and the son of the GOD at the same time?? and were we without GOD before JESUS and without GOD now after JESUS died?
because in ISLAM we believe in that : JESUS is a prophet(as all the prophets which came before and after him) from the GOD has been sent to the people to teach them that there is one God and to Worship that GOD.

My friends, I carry a huge burden for those who don't believe in hell. My heart really aches for you friend.

So many of you are flippant about hell and what it is. Dear, dear person, I BEG you to research it. The rest of your life depends on it.

I really dont want to come across as a "hell and damnation" preacher, but my heart is really sore with a deep ache for those who believe that hell is non existent, or believe it to be a place of fun.

If you land up there, you will not have time to chat to any human as you will be too busy being tormented by demons. Do you enjoy light and fresh breezes and nature? You wont have any of that there. It is dark and very hot. It is not just a fire my friend, there are many levels, but every level is terrible.

Please PLEASE find out for yourself so that you will not go there dear person. Please.

Jesus loves you and does not want you to end up there for eternity.

May He lead you and guide you into all truth.

With love.

9:38. "O you who believe! what is the matter with you, that when you are asked to march forth in the cause of Allah (i.e. Jihad) you cling heavily to the earth? Are you pleased with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But little is the enjoyment of this life of this world as compared to the Hereafter"
9:39. "If you march not forth, He will punish you with a painful torment and will replace you by another people: you cannot harm Him at all, and Allah is Able to do all things".

Would you like to be replaced??????
Like Allah swt. had replaced Jews and Christians with Muslims.

Since I don't believe in Hell, I shouldn't say it. Is there a faith-free equivalent to Hell?

Thanks in advance.

In answering another one of my questions, a religous person suggested that I ask this one instead. I'll answer first, since I'm an atheist.

For such a remarkable thing as God, All-powerful, all-knowing, and so on, I'd need some pretty powerful evidence. I'd believe in God if he silenced religous confusion... if religous people actually seemed to live better lives, and if undoubtable mircles were commonplace.

I mean, God could do all these things, right? And I think he should, if He wants us to follow Him...
why make things difficult to understand and cause well-meaning people to live incorrect lives? I know if God exists, and he was very kind, I'd want to follow Him.
But instead, we are left with only confusion, and even the religous can't agree on exactly what God is.

How can god reveal himself to me? It seems logical to me that if I seek and I don't get a response that I should assume that god might not exist and live life the way I want to. I'm never going to be totally convinced that god exists unless i see some proof. why don't angels come to people today like they supposedly did more often in bible times? I want confirmation god exits?! How can I get it? Any ideas besides read my bible and pray?

Sit up on their computer all night long vigorously trying to disprove something they don't believe exists in the first place?

Also, how many so-called atheists do you think really deep down believes in God??? I'll never forget that one girl on here who said she was an atheist (her family were Christians) and she was very mad at God because her elderly grandmother fell out of a chair!

In this modern society why do you think that the catholic church still denounces birth control? The world has too many mouths to feed as it is. Do you think the real reason is to keep the numbers of catholics up?
Please don't give me the usual c##p about abstention.
Thanks.

would that make the creationist crowd happy? I can't believe the incredible amount of ignorant people on here who couldn't spell if their lives depended on it and who have never bothered to actually find out what evolutionary theory and big bang is all about but who feel justified in asking the most amazingly stupid straw man questions because they think evolution or big bang threatens their religion.

I read your bloody bible before rejecting it, would it be too much trouble to pick up a bleeding biology book and learn before you expose your ignorance to the world?

GE 24:2-9, 47:29 "... put your hand under my thigh, and I will make you swear by the Lord ...." (Note: This means "put your hand under my testicles," which is the manner in which oaths were taken at the time; "testament," "testify," and "testicle" have the same root.)
GE 29:16-30 Jacob marries both Leah and her sister Rachel. He has children by both Leah and Rachel's maid Bilhah, but Rachel remains barren. Due apparently to Rachel's generosity to her husband, the Lord eventually allows Rachel to conceive.
GE 34:1-2 Shechem defiles Dinah.
GE 34:13-29 Hamor, his son, and the men of their village agree to be circumcised so as to be allowed to marry the daughters of the Israelites. On the third day, "when they were sore," the Israelites kill Hamor, his son, and all the men of the village, and plunder their wealth, taking their wives and children, thus getting revenge for the defiling of Dinah.

The original question was about hearing God's voice....

Check this answer out: LOL
--------------------------
I have never heard Him actually talking to me, it's more of a feeling for me. If someone I know as a friend said they heard God talking to them, I would believe them. I've heard crazier things ;)
----------------------
He's heard "crazier things" ... What is he saying here???

Recently on yahoo news I read, that within 10 years scientist will be able to create life by just synthetic means. (sing the same substances which form the DNA, creating a cell.

Believers claim, that god is the creator, and everything was created by him, and not by evolution.
Its the old discussion: creation versus evolution.
Now, if a human as well can create life form scratch, I would say, this totally proofs the believers creation argument wrong.

Many people in the Gospel asked that very same question
directly to Jesus and let's see what the reply was;

"And behold, one came up to him, saying, "Teacher, what good deed must I do, to have eternal life?"

"And he said to him, "Why do you ask me about what is good? One there is who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments." Matthew 19:16-17

Here according to Jesus, to enter Heaven, we follow the
commandments.

A question to the Christians is: why would Jesus mislead this man if the 'only way to heaven was through the blood of Jesus'?

Was Jesus misleading this man by teaching that Works will open the Gates of Heaven?
-------------------------

"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:10

Here Jesus says that Martyrs will go to Heaven, those who die and suffer for a good cause will go to Heaven.
