Because they are too busy acting like Satan. If they acted like Jesus really acted then the World would be a better place. Jesus did not condemn, but loved everyone. Some so called Christians (and notice I said so called) are really gonna' be surprised on Judgement Day. They sicken me by talkin' the talk, yet never walkin' the walk. If Jesus condemned no one and historically we know that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute (from other literary items of the day & not the Bible) then what are these Christians doing walking around with their noses stuck in the air condemning everyone. God reads the heart, so I don't know who they think they are hiding from. And they kill me taking scriptures out of context to create hate. I love it when I get to say to them, "Well, that's not very Christianlike." They're anti-this and anti-that and anti-gay and anti-abortion. When all Jesus was about was pro-love. Sorry, didn't mean to go off on a tirade. All these answerers think we can't be Jesus & they're right, we can't, but the Bible says that we should strive to be like Jesus. And wouldn't it be nice for no one condemning anyone else and everyone loving everyone else.

It all depends on what is meant by your statement.
Jesus came from heaven as the God-man, as prophet, priest and King to die on a cross for the forgiveness of sin. He rose bodily from the dead and sits at the right hand of the Father. These things were particular to Christ and not the Christian.
A true Christian is one which has a changed heart, that has been born-again, and loves the Lord. He/She loves the Bible, the gospel of grace, and seeks to obey the law of God, as summarized in the Ten Commandments. Christians are not perfect in his life, but should have put off all known sin and be seeking to shine more and more brightly until the day the Lord takes them to heaven.
Jesus likened the church as a field of wheat and tares. That both exist within the church, saved and unsaved. While the elders of a church seek to only allow true Christians into members of the church, they are unable to look into a person's heart and know the condition of their souls. However we are told that there will come a day when the wheat will be taken up to heaven and the tares will be thrown into the fire. The question is: Are you a wheat or tare?

Is it CONformity or TRANSformity - Which? "Christians" can not "act" like Jesus because Jesus is God, therefore, perfect. What makes one a "Christian", is the fact, that he or she has a spiritual relationship with God based on faith, grace and Jesus Christ - not living by a set of legalistic codes. An authentic Christian knows he or she makes mistakes; conversely, a "religious" person thinks he or she IS a mistake and attempts to win God's favour by performing "good deeds". The point is. Christians are already under grace, therefore, trying to chalk-up "brownie" points just doesn't cut-it !!! In God's eyes, we all have sinned BUt He still loves us all (everyone ever, born). God doesn't want "religion" - He wants "Christians" !!!

There is something you need to understand:
There are 2 types of Christians - those who have been brought up Christian or those who merely go to church on a Sunday but have not had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ and do not KNOW God. These give Christianity a bad name because they call themselves Christians but do not serve the Lord. Then there are those of us who are born again Christians and who the Lord slowly changes and delivers and begins to turn us into what He wants us to be - an image of Himself.
Please, please understand the difference. Born again Christians are NOT religious. Christians who do not know the Lord ARE religious. God detests religion because He wants us to have a personal relationship with Him.
Those who dont act a lot like Jesus have not been born again, or they have just given their hearts to Jesus. Remember, we are human just like you. It takes time for the Holy Spirit to change us permanently.

because many only say their are followers of Jesus. Jesus himself said that there are wolves in the christian congregations. but the key is that you would know a true christian by their fruits. Jesus example was they would have love among the congregations. So a true christian actually respects, others, and like most so-called Christians they do not get involved in military conflicts. and other things that could hurt, harm, others.
gee this may be too much common sense for most.

This is due to the truth not being preached, alot of people believe in the "Once saved, always saved" doctrine which means that no matter what you do, your always saved, so many people live like sinners not knowing that "The wages of sin is death" so they continue in it because they are comforted by the so-called eternal security. This teaching is false and i pray that people will wake up to the truth that we are called to be "Holy". God bless

If I could life a sinless life and stand up against the influential people in our time...maybe I could act like Jesus...
But I'm not...so I can't.
