Drop dead. it's insulting and it's real, while "go to hell" is sending a person to a non existent address.

Go to Work!
That would be a faith free equivalent to hell for many people!

I don't think anyone should say anything like that to another person...maybe try get lost instead..I think it is faith free, and well it is not too offensive, but it still conveys the same message..Or get the Heck out of here...leave me the Heck alone...but go to heck, well it just doesn't sound right.

Instead of "Go to hell", I think maybe something like "I hope you get sucked into a black hole in outer space" would be semi-good as a substitute. Give me some time to think of a better one. What do you do when someone sneezes, I'd like to know personally.

First of all you should not call yourself an atheist. Why define yourself in terms of imaginary beings?! If you believe there is no Loch Ness monster, do you label yourself in a way to reflect that belief, ex. I am a-Nessie?
Secondly, hell can merely mean a place of misery torment, etc. If you wish someone to go to a place of misery, just tell them go to hell. It's OK. You have a right.

I personally like some of the classic swear words such as "f**k off" as these are non-faith-based as well as being universally understood in many languages.

Oblivion, perhaps? It's a bit of a mouthful, though. Personally, I love being able to blaspheme as an atheist... it retains its cultural potency but I don't believe in any bad consequences.

Regardless of whether it exists or not, telling someone to go to a flaming pit of pain and excrement is okay for non-religious insulting in my books.
Just because you're an atheist it doesn't mean you have to be anal.

i'm a theist and i don't believe in hell, either ... i use 'go to hell' anyway! no one means it in the literal sense ... or you could just say 'get lost' or p*ss off' or something like that ... but honestly, 'go to hell' sounds a little more civilised!

Burn in Arizona! (It is very hot here...)
Um..that's something to think about. I still use the expression, even though I don't believe. I usually just say "You can just burn" and leave the hell part out.
