I have never heard Him actually talking to me, it's more of a feeling for me. If someone I know as a friend said they heard God talking to them, I would believe them. I've heard crazier things ;)

he's trying to say that most unbelievers would not believe you if you said you talked to god out loud and they would call you crazy...but he has heard much more crazier things than talking to god, really strange things occur, and people don't seem to have a problem with it, but when someone mentions god, they must be off their rocker, why is that, is it really that hard for so many to grasp, why didn't you ask this to the person who wrote it instead of repeating it to everyone else behind his back just to laugh at his expense, shame on you, you know good and well what he ment, maybe he didn't word it to your specifications, but you still understand what he was trying to imply, why don't you cut people some slack?

I suppose the idea leans more towards 'thoughts' from God rather than a voice. A voice would call into question a hallucination such as in common in Schizophrenia. If then the issue settles on thoughts how do you tell if they are from God, your own imagination or some evil power?

Well, the Word of God tells us "I call my sheep by name, they hear and know my voice" There is no doubt that when someone hears God's voice, to anyway not know that it is Him.
What this guy is hearing, I'd sure wish he'd tell us. So your guess is good as mines. But then, we've heard lots say they hear voices.

Okay, I hope I answer this right because your question is kinda confusing.

When people say they hear God talking to them, This is like,God speaking to your heart. Like you said, you feel him. Kinda the same thing, just a differnece in words. It's actually amazing. You know how it is when you want to do something wrong for example: say you want to steal something,....you hear a voice saying "go ahead, take it". then you hear another voice saying"no, don't do it, that's wrong."

It's kinda like that. When you pray, you are talking to God. After that just sit back and be quiet for awhile, sometimes God will talk to you, he will speak to your heart.

If i'm confusing you even more. Look at it this way. Anytime something comes across your mind, and it will please your flesh, you know your sinful desires, then that's the devil talking to you.But any time something good, loving, kind that will please God, comes throught your mind, that's God speaking to you.

Also when you read the bible, that's God talking to you through his word. I always wondered why, I could read something in the bible, then someone else could read the exact same thing. And we both get something different from it. God wanted each of us to get something different.
