Usually I won't go into religion, but tonight I feel like doing so. I'm sorry in advance if this insults anyone.

Okay, someone asked about women as preachers. I found a passage from the Bible that speaks out against women even talking in church. Do you think that this is outdated, since society has changed and most people recognize (as they should) that genders are equal? Do you think that women should be recognized as equal in every way-- allowed to speak in church and become the head of the household? Why or why not?

"Let your women keep silence in the churches:
for it is not permitted unto them to speak;
but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law."

"And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church."

I was born into a Christian family, but have decided to become a Wiccan. Even though I'm still new at this, can I call myself a Wiccan? I haven't been initiated and I haven't studied for a year and a day. But I really don't want to consider myself a Christian anymore because I don't believe in their teachings.

I have a co-worker who, if you don't mind, has a bad case of verbal diahrrea. Basically, he can take a short set of instructions and spin it into a whole load of nonsense, he also speaks in movie lines, puns, and other things that have little to do with anything. Basically, he talks just to hear and amuse himself. I have told him several times to not do it, but he ignores it. How can I deal with this in a polite and civil manner?

The ever-presence of God is all around us, yet we do not always see Him.
When our egos do sense His presence, His Truth is felt as anxiety, fear and guilt, a reality we are too ashamed to face. Escaping, we reach for the security of our culture-hypnotics; friends, pleasure, church, music, drug, drink.
What are we really doing when we are escaping like this ?

Are we not escaping from the ever-presence informing reality, the Truth who is trying to set you free?

You see, our vanity does not allow us to be still and know this truth, for then we would become aware of the folly of pride, of what failures we have become at the hands of our lovers, leaders and problem-solvers. And, furthermore, we would be aware of what a hell "our" system is.

Or, do you prefer to be asleep while awake like those "human-batteries" feeding your unseen master-the Architect-Satan ?

Do you prefers illusion over Reality ?

What say you all ?

this is a sincere question please no wise cracks. People ask Who created the creator. well if one believes the creator created time then there needs not be a creator for the creator. If the all mighty is outside of time there would be no begining or end. so isn't this question void? the reason is we who look past the physical into the supernatrual believe in an existance that has no start or end and therefor does not need an external presence to create it. only the universe with laws such as physics and thermal dynamics needs a creator. If I am wrong please tell me why.

My kids are 5 and 6 and his grandmother takes them to a Christian church every other weekend. I have never been religious and I want my kids to be open-minded about religion and not just get brain washed into it at an early age. I wonder how much damage this is going to do to them and how I can talk to them about people believing different things?

okay well i just got to college about a week ago. theres this girl a few doors down from my dorm and she seemed really nice in the beginning but shes just so annoying now. she always comes in my room and wants to hang out and has this annoying voice and always talks about herself constantly and her boyfriend back home, and she's kind of controlling, like she loves telling me what to do. shes a sophomore and im a freshman, and even though i dont know the campus as well as her, ya know, shes telling me that i wont like my mac n cheese before i eat it, so i should get pizza with her but i said no, and shes like, 'fine, dont listen to me' under her breath. and i dont know what to do to get rid of her! because i met other cool kids on campus and we've all been hanging out plus her... and shes driving me CRAZY. now shes nice and everything so i feel bad. i dunno what to do, should i tough it out or talk to one of my new friends in our group about it?

If your boss fired you and then lied to everyone saying you quit and none of them believe you because your boss made it sound like you had an option to stay (you didn't).... what would you do?

i study in a college, we have a professor who teaches us physics....
we literally tolerate him, he acts as if he is the principal of our college...till now even the principal has not taken an action against him....
he has already beaten up 2-3 boys...just because of no reason...and abuses every gal of our class...
i know it will be foolish to do things like this...but is it possoble for me to put up a case against him...for beating up students

I mean they do have a Latin descent, coming from the Romans. If you hear Italian and Romanian, you will notice so many words in common with a different sound to them. Of course, Romanian has Slavic in it too, but why then Romanian people cannot be called Latin and just Spanish and Italian and Mexican etc. can? I have read in the bible that women are to be silent in worship and that they should never be in the situation where they are preaching to men. I found an example of this in the o.t. but can not find it in the n.t. is it then still not right for a woman to preach if it is not stated in the n.t.? not sure if I'm just not looking in the right place.

Religion is a cultural thing. But it gives people hope. You have less proof that there isn't a god than there is. I'm a former atheist, but now an agnostic. Why would you strive to take away hope, make immature comments, and destroy the morale of over 98% of the world population? I believe that you have moral values, but religion is the foundation of a democratic society and a stable society, at that. Look in the past. Everytime someone tried to take religion away from people (Nazi Germany, USSR, etc.) it has destroyed the society. If you're an anarchist, fine. Then it makes complete sense. But why do you have to be so immature about it? There is no concrete proof that there is a God, and no concrete proof that there isn't. There's a difference between blindly following religion (which not many people do anymore, mind you) and thinking for yourself. There would be a universal sense of egomania if we all thought there was no God. Tell me: What started the big bang; what sparked life?
