I think unequivocally we have to say YES.

The idea that you'll have an infinite afterlife as the major religions promise is undeniably seductive to the human consciousness. I am an agnostic, I realize no earthly beings can know what is beyond in any true sense, but this is a question of what it means to be a human.

Athiests, you can't deny that as of lately human civiliaztion has progressed alongside a belief in an afterlife. The egyptians, the foundation of civilization were highly religious for example. They truly believed in an afterlife.

I think the divergence from the past comes in that society is becoming truly global. We will realize its just humanity, as many people in America are lately, but lets not deny the comfort the human has gained from religion, and the comfort it still provides our animalistic minds to this day.

This is really a point to agnosticism. MAYBE something else does exist that we cant touch, if humans could realize this it may help us prevail.

Hasn't civilization matured enough that people don't need a god? Why has people been waiting for 2,000 yrs. for their god? That's a pretty long wait for something that's not going to happen!

If you aren't baptized can you still go to heaven? Some say if you are sprinkled on the forehead or have water poured over your forehead, you're baptized. Some say complete immersement is the proper way. Which is true?

While your kid's are gowing up, it's understandable to explain religion to them. The goal would be to explain how it works, and all of it's ups and downs so they can choose which religion, if any at all, they want to follow. But in order to do this more effectively, you would probably have to take them to a church at least once. It seems that if you would prefer for them to be athiest (like I do), then taking them to church many times and then all of a sudden stopping would give them a weird feeling toward religion. I don't want my kids to be religious, but I don't want them to start hating religion just because I stopped taking them to church. Would it be better to just have them read about religion from books, and explain that they shouldn't bother with going to church?

Was Sunday changed to get more people who worshipped the sun to change from Saturday to the 7th day? There are those who contend that worship on Sunday is strictly of human origin ans, as such, is unauthorized by God. What do you say?

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

( Matthew 7:21-23)"

My Grandpa would send me for things like
"box of grid squares"
"a pucket of prop wash"
"a roll of flight line"
"a left handed monkey wrench"

When I would ask my dad to do something he would tell me," Sure I will do it as soon as I find out where I lost my box of 'Round 2 it's'"

and lets not forget the good old Snipe hunt!

I am out to everyone at school, and my mom, and brother. My mom asked me not to tell the family for fear they will reject me.
So I respected her wishes. Now, I want to tell my father. I would have a while back, but i was busy mending our relationship. but now I feel like i should tell him, and I want to. I live with him everyother weekend, and will see him this weekend.

So I was wondering, do you think it would be okay/ better for me to come out

via Email,
To give him some time to think about it so that he will have time to gather words for this weekend, if we have a talk.

OR

Face to face, and have him react however, right then and there.

hmmmm.
opinions?

and

if he reacts badly,
then i will have two parents that just
really dont like that part of who I am
how could I cope?

but i looking on the bright side, er trying too :]

oh and if i told him via email, i feel like I could definately express my feelings better writing, than talking.

Seriously: What would it take to convince you believers that there is no god?
What would you need to say: Whoooo! those guys are right! there is no god! We´ve been mistaken all this time!

What? just speak your mind...

Christians why do good godly people suffer who love God and love thier families, a person my husband and I know is very ill and if a miracle does not happen he will pass away. Two people who I love with all my heart I come to find out have cancer and they are such wonderful people. Why do good people suffer and the wicked seem to get away with everything and no ills befall them? It just hurts me so much that good godly people are suffering when they invest thier lives in thier familys.

I would ask that I would recieve no sarcasm or smart remarks but this is a question both my husband and I ask. What is your take on good people suffering?
