Selling timeshare resort properties can be very interesting. Being able to convince random strangers to make a $10,000 to $25,000 purchase within 90 minutes of meeting them is a great challenge to the wits, and is not intended for the faint of heart. It requires that you be able to celebrate your successes and yet remain focused on the task at hand between them without becoming discouraged. Plus, the commissions are excellent and you get to help people out in the process.

Without a doubt , my best job and the most rewarding was working as a teaching assistant at a private school for children 5-19 years old.
These were very special children. They couldn't function in school and were sent to the school I taught at. Most of them came from broken homes, abusive parents, poverty or just needed someone to listen and love them as they are.
There were many ADHD children who can be very difficult to deal with. I have had psychotic children, children who couldn't articulate and learn..but there was always something they were interested in and I would talk to them about whatever interested them, I even had one that wanted to commit suicide. Many days I walked him around a track and talked to him with dignity and respect. He could tell me anything and that made we feel wonderful. We talked about his thoughts of suicide and I gave him reasons to believe in himself. I valued him and loved him.......as I loved the other children who were so far behind "normal" children in regular school.
I found the job to be the most challenging and rewarding job ever! I looked forward to each day and loved every moment with these kids. They are worth it.
Unfortunately I had to move out of state and that was one sad day for me and for many of the students. I cried over leaving them even though the job didn't pay much.
I came back, but was rearended in a car accident so I couldn't go back to work.
I also had a board hit across my knee by two boys that were fighting. It wasn't meant for me..but I got it and went down. I was restraining the bigger boy and the smaller one got me.
I have had 2 knee surgeries from that too but NEVER would I blame the boys. It was an accident. I loved them all.
This was a job that I looked forward to everyday and rose to the challenge! I have my little yearbook in which the children wrote wonderful comments about me. I will cherish it and the memories of those children for the rest of my life.
I inquired of what happened to the 12 year old boy who wanted to kill himself and he went on to high school to graduate. I am so proud of him. I could never give up on any of them and I hope that I made a difference in their lives. It is the most wonderful feeling in the world! If I could make a difference in one child's life.........it was all worth it all....including the injuries!

Working with elderly folk in a retirement home. They each have had such interesting lives and experiences that it makes me quite envious. The things they have seen and done through their lifetime would fill several books.
