NO!
The "Thou shalt not kill"
applied to humans. God showed Adam and Eve that they would need to use animal skins to survive in the natural world where sin would corrupt the weather when He made animal skin clothes for them. So killing creatures is not a sin. Abusing animals is wrong and I am certain God would disapprove, but many of the creatures are harmful to humans because sin has changed them and their behavior. Flies have killed more people than all the wars combined simply by spreading germs that cause disease........

It's hard to say since we weren't alive during that time. But my take on it, is that they were just very wicked people who turned on God. Just like your mother said. God then promised us that he would never flood the earth again, which is why we have rainbows. They show his ever-lasting promise. The 10 commandments also came along after the flood. The Bible says 'the wages of sin is death', so maybe these people sinned a lot as well? Again, it's hard to say because I wasn't actually there..... There are different ways to look at it though.

First off, the ten commandments are not "God's law."
They are part of the law of Moses. Even Christ refers to the law as such.
Secondly, murder is in relation to one person killing another through hatred.
Killing flies is not even remotely related or associated.

The Old Testament which contains the Ten Commandments also contains instructions regarding innumerable animal sacrifices which symbolically took away the sinners sins. If killing the animals was sin then they were only making the problem worse. The conclusion? Animal sacrifice was not murder. That does not mean one should kill animals indiscriminately.

The Ten Commandments do not say thou shall not murder.
ONE of the Ten Commandments is Thou Shalt not Kill.
If you can't even quote it right should you try to insult it? How bout no.

That is the most ridiculous question I have ever heard. That commandment is referring to human life. Read between the lines! Do you also question yourself about going fishing, stepping on ants, and eating hamburgers? How about cutting down a tree? Would that be tree murder? I mean, come on!!!

I would worry more about the Sabbath.
Exodus 31:13-15
Six days my work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
Which is on Saturday, not Sunday. God started the week on Sunday.
Fortunately for me I do not subscribe to this belief system.

Thou shall not murder pertains to a murder of human beings not flies. You might need to check your brain because it might be infested by flies.

pls read Gen 9.3-6
vs 3 everything that lives and moves will be food for u. just as i gave u the green plants, i now give u everything.
vs 6. who ever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for in the image of God has God made him.
Gen 1, 2 makes it clear that God gave plants as food source to ADAM and Eve. in Gen 9 God declares to Noah likewise i give u all that moves and lives, meaning animals as food. we can kill them for food. if they are harmfull like pests as rightful owners, or kings of earth we can kill them. we are not to kill animals indiscriminately b'cos then we wud not be acting as wise rulers of the land. (God created man to be rulers of the earth, Gen 1)
Humans however, were the only living beings that was created in the image of God. It is Man's life that is most precious. murder refers only to humanbeings. it is 'isms' like Buddhism that takes the extreem stand that we shud not kill even a fly. that is not Godly, that is humanism.
the murder command is broken when we harm a human being. in mathew 5 21-22 it says thinking uncharitable / murderous thoughts/saying a person is godless etc of a person is murder.

Wow.. Do you say to each swatted fly that you are sorry and then run to your local Church to light a candle for each dead fly?
You made me laugh after a long day. Thank you so much.
