If your boss fired you and then lied to everyone saying you quit and none of them believe you because your boss made it sound like you had an option to stay (you didn't).... what would you do?
No one wants to hear my side of the story and it really bothers me.

this happened at my work. this girl walked out of the store crying, because she had gotten fired. but all the managers were telling everyone that she quit. I think that bosses do that to make themselves look better (which is disgusting, i know). so that the employees would look at the boss and think that they are nice and not mean. whereas if they were close to the person whogot fired they would prolly thinkthe boss wasmean.

get what i am saying?

If your boss is telling everyone you quit, this could create some problems for you re: collecting unemployment benefits. (In the U.S., for instance, you usually can't get unemployment if you quit.)

The good news is that the people in charge of unemployment DO let you tell your side of the story, and they usually DO give you the right to appeal if you're not happy with a decision they have made.

The unemployment people matter--having enough money to live on for however long you're unemployed matters.

The opinions of former co-workers who don't want to hear from you anyway--they don't matter.

You might want to talk to someone in HR and explain the situation. Quitting means you probably are not eligible for Unemployment Compension.

If your former supervisor is not being honest with your former co-workers, HR should be advised. They might just say "we'll look into it" and you never hear from them again, but that's about all you can do.

File for unemployment (just while you are looking for a new job of course). If you are fired you can get it. If you quit you can't and it will cost the company....

That is why a lot of bosses will try to drive people to quit, instead of firing them...and as for those people who don't believe you..sounds to me like you are better off without them. I'd cut my losses.

well if there is no H.R. & it's a small company, it will hurt his pocket even more!
