Its a fact. The primary reason is the high number of pastors and ministers being produced compared to the overall number of church attendees. Some studies have concluded there is nearly 1 minister for every three individual church family.
When faced with an overwhelming number of ministers, it is easy for a young pastor to branch off his/her own ministry, normally taking his/her biggest supporters along.

Another great problem is the new age thinking. It the case of the "Assembly of God" churches, the number of graduated ministers compared to the number of ministers who stay and work for the Church is so off, they are actually hurting for people. This is occurring because younger people feel that the old doctrine needs to be changed. In this church I predict a major split within several years.

There are many different cases in many different denominations, thats for sure.

Can't say that I have but then again I do not pay much attention to church politics. I went many years without attending any church. When I did find a good one it was in the process of dying due to changes in demographics near the church, perhaps a split that happened before I came, and the final blow that would have come anyway just a bit slower the pastor being charged with impropriety. Well the good part there was another church of the same denomination that some 50 years before has actually been a satellite of the church I belonged to that invited us to join them in mass. They too were a failing church due to demographics but none of the other problems although 1/2 of them might have been from another church in the region where the pastor caused a rift due to another kind of impropriety. Sounds like a soap opera doesn't it. Well we are not a really strong church but we love each other (in Christian charity) and have a lot of fun.

Yes, I noticed that too, I think it has alot to do with the fact that people don't want to submit to the leaders of the church, even when God commanded that to be so, and then they go out and open their own church.
Everybody nowadays has their own agenda ,everybody always wants to be right, and that just doesn't work in one building. If everyone would get on God's agenda , we would not see those problems.
