I'm just curious. This question has bothered me for a long time, because there have been a whole bunch of different answers. A friends of mine says that we go to hell. Someone else said that God is caring, so he forgives us and still lets us into heaven. Someone also said nothing happens, unless you're dead. I'm wondering what other people are thinking.

I was once accused of being a satanist after I told someone I was an atheist. Wouldn't belief in satan make you a theist?????? I understand that this person obviously hated atheists and therfore resorted to immature name calling, but calling an atheist a satanist. I hate to play the role of captain obvious, but apparently the obvious is not obvious to these people.

I believe that God is real and all around us. I have seen too many things good and bad that cannot be described in human scientific manners, that must be the work of a power greater than us. I do not believe in organized religion, as they have been created by mortal people that create these cults to serve their lifestyles or their interpretation of the bible. I also believe that the book that we know as The Bible cannot be anywhere close to the original document that was created thousands of years ago. It has been translated and retold so many times. Is anybody with me here? I talk to Him, He listens, and He helps me out a lot. I have found this to be a lot simpler than what others make religion out to be. I just remember that He is responsible for my blessings, and He is all around me. I try to be a good person basically and acknowledge. I pray that I always do right by Him and make good choices, and so far I have a pretty wonderful life. Anyone feel the same?

i'm catholic and of the belief that it matters less which denomination you're apart of and more about whats in your heart...
unfortunately at my predominantly presbyterian school, i seem to be one of the few in that school of thought..
professors openly mock catholicism, saying the church "added books that arent really scripture"...i even had a roommate tellme that there is still "time for me to repent and attend a real church adn turn from my pagan ways"....i asked her what her problem with catholics was and she said "just some doctrines"...i asked what ones and she said"i cant think of them right now"
she is obviously ignorant and prejudiced, but alot of people on campus are more eloquent than her in their delivery and genuinly believe catholics arent christians...
how the heck do i tactfully respond to this?

I find most Asian guys apart from my dad kind of useless when it comes to DIY. They have no idea how to fix things around the house. Also, when they see me trying to lift heavy things or attempt DIY they just sit there watching. I find that my ex-partners who were white would be more than eager to do these things. I think Asian guys can be wimpy.

Either God changed the old testament and started over for the new testament.
OR The old testament is stil valid and we should stone our cheating wives, stone our kids for cussing...all to death of course. Or love them for waht they have done?
If you argue, yes the new testament is the new way and the old testament is "outdated". Great we can save our kids and cheating wives and appreciate what they have done.
OR perhaps is the new testamant about run it's time? Is it time ot replace the new testament? Has god tired of her son Jesus's story yet?
I mean it just seems natural if she (god) were willing to stop print on the old testament in favor of the new testament...then perhaps now is time for a new new testament?
Or should we just keep the new testament and the old one and stone our children to death and our cheating wives?
I am so confused.

I live in a country where English is a foreign language, and I would like to know the meaning of "No soliciting", which is written as a public notice. Please help me understand it.
I checked in the dictionary and found that soliciting means "when someone offers to have sex for money." But I am not convinced that a public sign would say such a thing.

I am an atheist. I never preach it or push it on anyone. I have no problem w/ Christianity or any religion. Yet, whenever I read a book like Religion Gone Bad, or where a Marilyn Manson shirt, all the Christian kids peg me a Satanist and give me a bunch of crap. These are the kids i see beating up the chess club and being jockey assholes. And when I don't say Under God in the pledge of allegiance, everyone looks at me like i committed a murder. It wasn't even originally there, it was added in the cold war.

It is sad, but many of you are proving my point over and over again. Being color-struck is the like the cousin of racism. It all comes from the same source. I can't say that I am surprised that people are bothered by this topic. Ask those people who did the paper bag and ruler tests about it. They would flip. Let's not air our dirty laundry. Honey, it stinks like mildew. It is like a bum that doesn't care that they smell. Congratulations, you have a huge odor and want to pretend that everything smells good. My bad, I am sorry that it bothers me that the next generation has to deal with same crap that our forbears had to deal with.

see, i'm thirteen. my whole life, i've never been attracted to girls. i've always had crushes on guys, and have only thought of being with a guy. recently however, i've imagined being with another girl, , and i'm turned on when i see two girls kissing, holding hands, etc. it's not actually "recently". more like, the past year.
however, i can only honestly, physically imagine being with a guy. am i bi? if it is only hormones, how come i've been feeling like this for so long?
