i have been trying to do research on hindu surnames and their correspondance to caste/regional area. can you help me?

Basically a first name like Robin Or Jack.Some people have used it as a surname but more in default.A raj put is member of a warrior class or caste and may have many castes or clans incorporated within it.Very few people use it as a surname also.Rajputs can be found in many areas as scattered or a homogeneous groups.Most of them can be found engaged in agriculture,trading and almost all other fields of occupation.

Mohan /Moun is Jat clan in Haryana mostly scattered in villages like Sorkhi ,Bass , Bhaklana Matour etc Their population is approximately twenty thousands. And engaged in agriculture, or services, military or civil, and some are in business.

mohan is a telugu name. mohan means person with charming. it a name. but not jat sur name. rajput is a caste in rajasthan state in india. rajputs are warriors in the erstwhile kingdoms. jat is a farmer community in haryana, uttar pradesh and punjab areas in india.

mohan is not a jat surname but rajput, yes, as fas as i know..

'Rajput' is a surname.
Some people use 'mohan' as surname. Mostly punjabi/gujrati/jat use this.

Mohan is belongs to Mohyal caste and are brahmin punjabi.
