Constantine called , and headed, the first Council of Nicaea to, once and for all, bring orthodoxy to the Catholic Church (the only christian church at the time). The members, 318 Bishops, voted for Trinitarianism. how do Christians believe that the vote of 316 Bishops (2 voted for Arianism, the teachings of Arius, that believed Jesus was a lesser being than God, that god created him) can become the word of truth, THE TRUTH, that all other Christian beliefs are based. the Logos (trinitarianism) defies logic, thus relies on blind faith! if the Christian Hierarchy had anotherCouncil that voted that they were wrong, would you then believe this, if not why? why would you believe the first ? please explain your theories

What is stopping an angel from starting another rebellion against God all over again after the 2nd coming?? Apparently, residence in heaven does not gaurantee allegiance to God.

I'm Japanese.
I've heard there are a lot of cows and bullocks wandering on the streets in India.
Are there any owners of those cows and bullocks?
If there are, why do the owners leave their cows/bullocks as they are in a town?

"Sitting in Sackcloth and Ashes" (Luke 10:13) is highly descriptive of the kind of thing Jesus wanted people to do. Why is this phrase being ignored? Is it too "eastern," and therefore we cannot talk about it? Reference, Ch 8, http://gospelenigma.com

From my young days as a practising muslim i gradually weaned myself out of the idea of a supernatural allah and i am confident now that such a creature exists only in the human imagination

Religious indoctrination usually blocks the human mind and the moment a person sets him/herself free from religion at that very moment the prison doors open and you are set free

thats how i felt the moment i rejected it

what are your comments?

As a Cylon, currently living and working on Planet Earth, definatly not planning an invasion to wipe out the remenants of the Heman Species...i have to ask.

what is it with sidney Vicious?

Is he/it an amoeba that has got too big for his/its boots?

Also, when i read one of his posts my shiny armour tarnishes and my state of the art circuitry starts to smoke and malfunction.

Quite aside from you suspecting my sincerity, or considering me sycophantic.....

.... Exactly how important TO you is the perception of others of your own supposed importance?

Does any part of you demand acknowledgement, priority and elation? Are you more willing to favour those who acknowledge, prioritise and elate you?

Or to put it in simple words for those with stunted vocabularies: Will you think better of me if I treat you as important and superior?

[ Just for the record... I'm not personally sure how I respond to this. I have a very prominant ego.... but yet as a Nihilist I am omnisceptical... and as one who has observed the human psyche at length, I am automatically suspect of any behaviour which appears to favour me. If I thought for a moment that anyone genuinely considered me more important than themselves, I would determine instantly that they were defective, as any normal lifeform generally considers itself of primary importance. ]

I do!

Not creepy polite, clearly to get in your pants.
But polite without thinking, just kind of takes care of you? Not aggressively, or patronizingly. Not because he feels obligated. Just little things, like being a step ahead to hold the door, or getting your chair, making sure he sits facing the wall, or asking if you mind before he loosens his tie or takes off his coat. A little protective of you in scary situations (not making you walk on the building-side of the sidewalk, I don't like that).
I know its not the dark ages, that men don't have to serve women and women don't need them to. I don't think a man should ever have to, I just think it's nice.

Opinions? Any one feel the same?
