There is none Beth. The doctrine of the immortality of the soul is not scriptural. We are mortal beings. A soul is not inside of man. We are living souls subject to death. the Bible says that the soul that sins , it shall die. (Ezeliel 18:4). The Bible also declares that the dead know not anything. Even their thoughts perish at death. They have no more activity under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 9:5,6).
The dead remain asleep(John 5:28,29) in the grave until the resurrection. This will happen at the end of the world.

God is the creator of all things and without Him nothing was made. All that He has made is just like Him.He is eternal and all that He has made is eternal. We cannot get rid of anything.
You can burn it and you will have ashes.
Crush it and you will have sand.
Tear it up and you will have pieces.
Its the same with man/woman.The body will die and turn to dust but, the soul will live on.

In the bible it directly states, you must accept the holy spirit and repent to make it into heaven. To accept the holy spirit means you have stopped sinning and repented. Without the holy spirit we cannot make it into heaven. Then our soul has everlasting life.
