I see there`s another in the newspapers today.
Why do they do it?
The question is: Is it against all religions to do that?

**Please note that the Bible says we are to compare Spiritual things with Spiritual (1 Corinthians 2:13). This means we are to see how God uses the term throughout the Bible to get the definition.

Did I really change that much? Or is there possibly another explanation?

“I’m pro-choice. I’m pro-gay rights,” Giuliani said. He was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions. “No, I have not supported that, and I don’t see my position on that changing,” he responded.

My theory is that gay people are so in love with themselves that they are looking for someone just like them to be with. I know there are some exceptions, but a lot of gay couples look like one another. Just a theory. May the attacks begin!

If you are a person of any faith, will you please join in prayer for the people of Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Haiti and other nearby islands? It looks like Hurricane Dean will very shortly be in an ideal position to expand, rapidly, and Jamaica is likely to get the worst of it. Please keep all the people in this storm’s path in your prayers.

Hurricanes play a vital role in the planet’s balance, but it’s no fun to be stuck in the middle of one.

... since you had kids? For me, I can see how difficult it must have been for my mom. It is hard enough to be a parent with some tools and skills and support...her illness just exhasperated everything for her and us. I am starting to forgive her, but still am unsure if I can connect with her. What are your stories?

May God forgive my error, and keep my heart within His way.

Proverbs 9
6 Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

7 He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.

8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

11 For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.

12 If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

I truly admire the devout sincerity and strictness that Orthodox Jews uphold in regards to laws such as eating, dress, appearance and the Sabath. Do Jews feel as if they are in bondage by following those. I would guess not but why not?? I would love to hear from Rabbis or a life long Jew. Please help Shalom!

How strongly do you believe your religion? Is it just something you believe because it is all you know- or do you believe it with your whole heart and soul? What is the strength of your testimony? Do you have to interpert your relgion to make it feel right, or is it right to begin with?

Following up on Bettie's question, I would assume that you can reach the "maximum level of happiness" (as quoted from one of the answers on Bettie's question) without God, because if you're an atheist, your wants and needs have absolutely nothing to do with God. So if your wants/needs are fulfilled, voila, you're happy, no God required. Correct?

From what I see in the United States of Protestant Christians and practically most Christians.

Sell your posessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. Luke 12:33, NIV

"Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. Mark 10:21 KJV

Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Matthew 5:21-22 KJV

I've heard that Norwegian, Swedish and Icelandic are all so similar, that if you can read, write and speak one, you can at least understand the others on a basic level. Is this true, and if it is, how much of a similarity is there? Is it like Spanish vs. Italian and other Romance Languages?
I am most interested in knowing what Icelandic is 'compatible' with, as this language has the greatest similiarity to Old Norse.

Joshua 6:2-17 states"And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.
3 And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.
4 And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.
6 And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD.

Okay so here my beef... Christian claim that the only way to get to heaven is to accept jesus christ as your savior, and that good deeds alone cannot get you into this heaven. So what about the remote villages that have never heard of jesus? And what about the centuries that Native Americans, Asians, South american tribes and any other peoples that never heard of jesus? I'm sure these were all very good people but just because they didn't know they are supposedly damned to hell for an eternity... I don't buy that! Someone please explain this to me. And that's just one of the many things but I just want to address this one for now.

Okay so Proud Muslimah Beautiful Islam just blocked me so I can't even answer her questions. I have never emailed her or anyone else on this forum. As an atheist, I have never blocked ANYONE, not even Fireball. I don't agree with Fireball, but I am not going to stop the entire yahoo community from even seeing her answers. Is this not cowardly of Proud Muslim? I guess she's not so proud after all if she can't even cope with someone questioning her religion.

There are always so many things on here and in the world about how they dont like the views of Christians or how there so hypocritical about there own morals...

Why is this? Why do they try to find everything wrong with my religion? Simple things like:

You eat pork... Your not supposed to eat pork.... I eat Pork yes I do!

The New Testament changed so many things. It gave us new rights that Old Testament people did not have. We no longer have to give sacarafices.. We can speak directly to God.. And we have FREE WILL. Just because some guy says he's Christian doesnt really mean he is... Some people like the title but none of the things to go along with it. Yes, I break some rules, and sin, but were human. Thats why Jesus gave us the ability to ask for fogivness.

Does anyone else agree with me? Or am i just babbling...
