From what I see in the United States of Protestant Christians and practically most Christians.

Sell your posessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. Luke 12:33, NIV

"Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. Mark 10:21 KJV

Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Matthew 5:21-22 KJV

As he taught, Jesus said, "Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the marketplaces, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows' houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely."Mark 12:38-40 NIV

And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. Matthew 6:5, NIV

'Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. Ezekiel 16:49 NIV

Of course I see how Christians (and not just "modern" ones) go against these teachings from the Bible. What's your point? Do you believe that Christians don't make mistakes...that they are able to become perfect on earth through the salvation of Jesus? Jesus died to pay the eternal consequences of our sins and those that choose to accept his gift will receive that forgiveness. However, that doesn't mean that they won't still make poor decisions that result in earthly consequences nor does it mean that they will all receive the same rewards in heaven. All of us have the opportunity to choose earthly rewards over heavenly rewards and just because I choose to not to give all my possessions to the poor (or do or not follow any of the other instructions you mentioned), doesn't mean that I am not following Jesus or that I'm not eligible for the grace of God...it just means that I shouldn't expect to receive the same rewards in heaven as those that DO choose to follow those teachings!

Very astute observation and TRUE!

Those verses , however, weren't written to we who are Christians today, but to those who were KINGDOM believers in times PAST. Under JUDAISM , these were instructions THEY understood to be addressed TO and ABOUT them.

Jesus words while He was on the earth were addressed to and about the nation Israel. He said so Himself "I came to the lost sheep of the HOUSE OF ISRAEL"

So...those verses you mentioned ARENT being followed today because they ARENT the instructions given to we , the church which is His BODY today.

We find those instructions in Romans thru Philemon.

Your questions and comments show insight and honesty in admitting that something is different, and something MUST have changed. It DID.

If you want more material on this...I have a free book entitled "God HAD a SECRET" that will explain this phenomenon to you in a very clear way. IT should be required reading for all professing Christians so that they can SEE what program God is presently in , and cooperate WITH HIM in it.

I missed the point of your laundry list of verses. The Christians I know don't qualify as your targets. No true Christian does. Many people wear the Christian badge who are not Christian at heart.

It's a cruel world we live in. Perhaps you can find a way to improve it just a little. You can start by looking at the log in your own eye, as Jesus once said.

You misinterpreted every verse. Try reading the entire Bible next time, you might actually ask a question not full of inaccuracies.

You picked them all out of context, cherry picker.

The Bible also says that only believers have the Holy Spirit to properly interpret the Bible. I notice you left that verse out of your list.
