...how did it become the woman's duty to prepare men's meals? Was that wise?

Adam (and all men since then) are certainly well aware that Eve (and the women that followed her) can feed him something harmful...perhaps Adam needed to demonstrate that he now trusted Eve to have learned from her mistake?

First off, it was the tree of life. Second of all, Eve didn't feed Adam, Adam ate the fruit on his own. Thirdly, it's neither men or womens duty to feed the other. The only people who's duty it is for us to feed is our children.
