Slang is basically the use of a common phrase in place of the correct one.

For example; "cop" instead of "policeman". Or as an earlier posting suggests, "y'all" instead of "you".

It is a modification of the language used in different areas of the world. Like here in Alabama, we say "Y'all" and "ain't" alto, we all have a different dialect depending on where and how you were raised.
