Put Away Christian Things

From the first letter of Paul of Tarsus to the school at Corinth:

When I was a christian, I spake as a christian, I understood as a christian, I thought as a christian: but when I became an atheist, I put away christian things.
Chapter 13, verse 11

Brethren, be not christian in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye christian, but in understanding be atheist.
Chapter 14, verse 20

OK, I think I see what you're getting at. Paul wrote to the CHURCH at Corinth, yet the schools here in the US teach atheism, so you're tongue-in-cheek scripture reference is to the schools attitude towards Christianity.

Also, your second reference seems to point towards the "malice" of the schools towards Christianity. Actually, it could be towards the US media in general, since they are very anti-Christian.

Am I close, or are you actually making fun of something you obviously have zero understanding of (if you are indeed making fun of Christians)?

Why would Paul become an atheist when he already made the smart decision and converted to Christianity?

You are equating being atheist to being loving, kind, hopeful.

Quite frankly, there are quite a few atheists at this site (and Christians, I might add) who do not exhibit signs of the faith, hope, and love Paul writes about.

I know, you are trying to stir things up, which must be fun, since so many atheists tend to do that here. That's fine, I'm not offended. Nor am I impressed.

Cute.

2 Peter 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

I concur with Hogie. Be careful of what you do.

May God cover you and bless you even tho you are bordering on eternal damnation.

NO, IT ISN'T. IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO KNOW HOW YOU CAME UP WITH THAT TRANSLATION.

YOUR VERSION IS EXACTLY WHY WE ARE HAVING SO MUCH TROUBLE IN OUR SCHOOLS...SHOOTINGS, DRUGS, LACK OF RESPECT, KIDS ON MEDS TO KEEP THEM UNDER CONTROL. LOWER GRADES, YOU NAME IT.

WE TAKE GOD OUT AND LET THE DEVIL IN THEN YOU HAVE REAL PROBLEMS...AND THEY ARE LIFELONG FOR THESE KIDS.

IF YOU GIVE THE DEVIL AN INCH HE WILL TAKE A CITY BLOCK FROM YOU.

WHEN YOU SAY THESE THINGS EVEN IN FUN, YOU ARE CONTRIBUTING TO A LOT OF HEARTACHE FOR INNOCENT CHILDREN AND I THINK YOU SHOULD RETHINK WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

Why do you write in an English that was used over 400 years ago?
If you're going to ridicule, at least ridicule up-to-date.
