I'm writing an essay about Hekate and was wondering what exactly being a "triple goddess" means.

I just wrote a list of goddess and associated with each of the three stages, like Hecate
"Goddess of the Witches", "Goddess of the Dark Moon." The original incarnation of the holy trinity, the crone aspect of the triple goddess. She was warped by the coming and spread of Christianity into a demonic, evil monster to obscure her importance in healing and love magic. She symbolizes blessing, cursing, luck, divination, the moon, oracles, prophecy, magical empowerment, mutation, healing, wisdom, women's mysteries.
But I had a lot more and accidentally delete it and can't bring myself to re type it again. Sorry.
In enlightenment it's the ability to exist in the past, present, and future at the same time (This is kind of top secret type stuff here). This is also associated with fate.

It is a type of Trinity.
There is one goddess, with three "faces" or "aspects". Usually, maiden, mother, crone...representing the phases of womanhood.
In the specific case of Hekate though, her Triplicity comes from the fact that she was regarded as a guardian of crossroads. Janus had two faces allowing him to look forward and back. Hecate has three to allow her to see all the roads of the crossroads.

In Greek mythology
Artemis was the goddess of the hunt
She was also the Goddess of the underworld but when she was referred to as this they called her Hekate
She was also the Goddess of the Moon and I think she had a different name(Selene)

The triple goddess is one goddess through three stages, the stages of a woman's life. Maiden, Mother, and Crone. This image was reinforced by the three visible stages of the moon, waxing, full, and waning.
Maiden is the young girl or woman, who is innocent and blossoming. In stories this aspect is frequently represented by the color white.
Mother is the life-giving, nurturing aspect, a source of life, but who also can deal death to protect her young. In stories this stage is represented by the color red.
Crone is the wise old grandmother in her benevolent form, the testy hag of death in the negative. She is heading for the end of life, but is full of wisdom and secrets from her long life. She is represented by the color black.
