I mean it's chock full of sorcery, magic, gods, monsters, demons and alike. It's actually worse than Harry Potter!!!!!!!!!

Although to be fair I think he was a lawful good Paladin....but does that make it right????

Mushy you know I'm just asking a comedic loaded question right? Did you not chuckle at the Paladin thing at all?

Yeah you're right people do ask dumb questions on here...I was trying to parody that. It's funnier if you know what a Paladin is (which is essentially a holy warrior for God in Catholic Rome).

Once again humor flies right over their heads. I kind of feel sorry for them. Almost.

Funny, I was going to say he was a paladin before I read the comment. He had a giant cross brandished on his plate mail armor and banished demons through the 13 levels of hades.

I can't believe some of the commenters don't realize that the questioner knows full well that Colbert is an act. Stephen Colbert *IS* Stephen Colbert. The "real* Colbert was obliterated long ago and is nowehere to be seen.

You are absolutely ridiculous. Even if you're a Christian that doesn't mean you shouldn't read fictional books like Harry Potter or play games like Dungeons and Dragons. It's not real. Have some fun. And as far as I'm concerned, Stephen Colbert can do whatever he pleases.

I was a Dungeon Master and I am Christian. People get this wrong all of the time!

God isn't up in heaven wringing His hands worrying about a Christian who might sin.

If he played the game it didn't bother him, then it's right for him. As with me, I didn't think it was wrong for me. But the time it took deterred from my studies, so it became less important to me, and so I stopped.

I think that I still have all my books and writings, even many maps on 3.5 floppies. I just don't care for them any more. Perhaps I ought to sell them on e-bay?

Um, you know Stephen Colbert just pretends to be a right-wing religious fanatic, right? It's his brand of comedy. You're not supposed to really believe it.

No, I didn't know. Why would I? Plenty of people here seriously ask the dumbest questions I've ever seen. I don't know who or what Paladin is...is that some sort of Dungeons and Dragons thing?

Oh my haven't heard that one in awhile. But no way!

They are getting ready to release edition 4 and if I still had a group I'd play it!

Me? I'm Neutral Good. I love playing rogues... shh... don't tell God that!

Oh by the way, I rolled a 1 on my sanity check today... Have a great weekend!

Why do people label all Christians the same?

I've heard a few fringe groups talk about the whole Harry Potter thing, but it's hardly all Christians, and that's the truthiness.

what difference does it make if you read a fictional story made up of fictional characters that incorporates the use of fictional magic? are you trying to say that imagination is a sin? that's ridiculous. what if something just pops in your head that has to do with magic--which is not wrong in the first place--does that mean you sinned just because your thought processes got away from you??? SIN, as i understand it, is when you actively seek to harm yourself or others either emotionally or physically. just because someone talks about something or writes about something and you enjoyed hearing about it doesn't mean you'll go out and do it.

i don't think it was wrong.
God doesn't ask us to close our eyes and hide in a corner and not participate in life. We are supposed to be a part of it. D&D doesn't in any way seperate someone from God. It's a game, Magic the Gathering, Monopoly, Tetris, Wii, Baseball... I don't believe God is against these things. We aren't nuns. :o)

Hell, he has own line of sperm: Formula 401. Are you complaining about Dungeons and Dragons? Heck, Colbert is one of the few smart Christians.

PS: Because Colbert is Catholic, the Inquisition should burn him.
