"Corpus Christians can drink from the tap once again"

I laughed so hard when I saw this headline in the newspaper this morning that I spewed Coke all over my monitor! Does that mean that atheists and followers of another religion still need to boil their water to be safe?

The headline appeared in the Corpus Christi Caller Times. The city was placed under mandatory "water boiling" orders on Tuesday following the discovery of fecal eColi bacteria in the water supply. This headline announced the lifting of that ban yesterday evening.

I know what they were trying to say, but didn't anyone realize the way it would look at first glance? LOL

Anonymous...I KNOW that! I've just never seen it written that way...why not "Corpus Christi residents" given the possible double meaning.

Aph004, I don't think it says anything about Christians...but it does make the person that wrote it look pretty silly...of course, that's par for the course for the CC Caller Times!

I live in a small town- our newspaper is often the brunt of jokes as well because the editorial staff can never think ahead to how their headlines sound when read aloud

Hey, then again, it might be a joke on the Christians - drink it as is & you'll go to hell. One million less people in the world.

All God's people have a guardian Angel, that is always watching over them. If you you should take precautions, but if you don't ,its ok because your Angel will see tat nothing happens to you, you just have the faith.

It appears that the reporter is either a Christian who had a Freudian slip or deliberately wrote that tongue in cheek.
