My child is almost 16 months old and we're supposed to be moving in about a month to a new home. Do you think there's anything I should do as far as getting her ready for the move? I was thinking that we decorate her room first so she's got familiar things around her. I know she's little but I don't want her to be upset.

I went through a bad bad divorce X did whatever she could do to try and keep me from our daughter. She ran me through the mud I attended class after class and did whatever she demanded me to do! Now she tells me that she puts soap on our daughters mouth for saying "I Hate you" and said I am to do the same and went on about how it won't work unless I do it also, I WILL NOT! Its going to be yet another fight. Am I wrong? What to do??

I've said since day one that he wasn't to have sweets or cola, but I still catch her giving it to him on occasion. It really pis$es me off because I feel like she's not respecting me as his mother. If coke with take RUST off of a screw, what is it doing to my baby's stomach? My question is.. what do I say to her to get her to finally stop? I don't want to keep her away from her grandson, but I don't know what else to do.

She has maybe 15-20 words but she is not putting two words together yet. She understands everything I say and follows directions perfectly. She tries to copy what I say..sometimes she's close but sometimes she's totally off. She grunts and has some basic signs that she uses. Any insight would be appreciated.

I have a daycare in my home and I have a 10month old in my care. Well the mom doesn't want her drinking water only juice because she feels water is empty calories. She sometimes comes with a 10 oz sippy of juice and told me for meals to give her juice not water. I know a baby of her age should only get max 4 oz of juice per day (diluted). I have tried to hint saying that I give the other children water with both snacks I serve and milk (which she obviously can't have yet) for breakfast and lunch but she says no the juice is fine. She even told me she was excited because her daughter now can drink out of a straw so she gave her her first juice box. I was appalled. Should I say something or just stay out of it?

I have a 2 (almost 3) year old boy in my daycare that refused to eat anything besides fruit. I supply breakfast and lunch and 2 snacks every day for the children. I make up a menu and give to the parents the week before. Well this particular boy will usually push his plate away and tell me he doesn't like whatever it is and get upset. I do serve fruit with breakfast and lunch which he will eat. So if he doesn't eat the rest of his meal he will go hungry. The mom tells me she usually serves him whatever he wants sepratley from what they eat for dinner. I refuse to do that because than the other kids will want what he has and besides I am introducing foods that he will not eat at home. Do you think I am doing the right thing by serving him what everyone else is having and not catering to what he wants. By the way he is fine weight and height wise.

My daughter is 20 months old and I just put her in fulltime daycare for the first time. I work about 50 hrs a week and so she spends a great deal of time there. I have no choice but to work because it is an internship program that I have to complete in order to finish my doctoral degree (which I've been working on for over 6 years). We also had to move out of state for this internship, so she is living in a new house, with a new room, etc... The adjustment has been really difficult...she has been tantrumming alot lately and I can tell she is anxious and stressed because her life has changed so much. I feel SO much guilt about leaving her in daycare fulltime and i try really hard to spend as much quality time with her as possible at night and on the weekends, but even that is difficult sometimes when I am so worn out. My husband works out of town and so he is gone much of the time, so he can't help. My question is, how do you manage the guilt? What can I do to help my daughter? Thanks!

I am a single mother. my daughter will be two in december. i stay home with her because i can't work due to a muscle disorder. i meet with other mom's who more or less brag about how well their child is doing. learning her letters and already potty trained. it makes me feel like i am holding my daughter back. i don't make her sit down for 3 hours a day and have study time. i bought flashcards and we work on those for 30 minutes a day. my daughter is into everything so more than 30 minutes she would lose interest. she has a large vocabulary but she doesn't use it. sometimes i feel like maybe she would be better off being in a daycare. i just don't trust anyone watching my daughter. i took her to a babysitter while i was still able to work and she came home with bruises and marks all over her back and butt. she's happy with me. My sister(really my best friend) has two little boys and i take my daughter over there and she has a blast. She does have interaction with kids her age. is it nor

She had a normal stool as usual. She hasn't been constipated or shown any signs of discomfort. The blood wasn't runny and only appeared on the stool. I have been keeping an eye on it but it happened about 5 mins ago. Should I be concerned? Possibly serious? She has no health problems and is a typical little 2 year old. Thank you!!!
