My daughter is three...but is 45 inches tall and 45lbs (both in the 100+ percentile for her age) she also talks very well for her age....

She is well behaved most of the time, but like most three year olds has her moments...

This morning she did fall out for a moment (and when I say a moment, it was over very quickly) but this woman said to me that "at her age she should behave better"...I just looked at her and said "she's three". The woman then went on to tell me that I had to be lying as she had heard my daughter talking the whole time and that I have to stop kidding myself and that she has to be at least five...

I just kept walking but this made me so angry, I seriously wanted to give this woman a piece of my mind and tell her to mind her own business...

How should I deal with this if it happens again?

Thanks very much...

We just transferred her from her crib in our room 3 weeks ago. She will fall asleep in her room initially while we are sitting there with her but 2-3 hours later she starts calling for mom and dad. This goes on for 3-4-5 times a night until I get fed up and put her in our bed. She has a night light and everything else in her room to make it cozy and enticing. At least we think so. Please help us sleep deprived parents...

My four year old daughter went through all of the normal phases. She was a sweet baby, then a curious one year old, she had the terrible twos, and at three she would push me and her father to the point when we were tearing out our hair. Nothing however compares to the whining! She was coming out of the age where we would bang heads on everything. My husband and I thought we were home free for a while. Then all of this started. She whines about everything. When she doesn't get what she wants, when she does get what she want and every second in between. My husband and I are losing it! What should we do?

My 4 1/2 year old daughter used to have long hair just 3 inch above her bottom. I come to pick her up from Daycare and her hair is chopped to her shoulders. I ask them what happened, they said her hair got stuck in the toilet and cutting her hair was needed. Why couldn't they have just told me, I would have cut her hair myself, and cutting it to her shoulders was way too extreme! This was her first haircut :-(

What should I do about that daycare?

Thanks for your replies

My 23-month-old son is unnervingly bright and energetic, which is great. However, he is very strong and very wilful and when his dad is at work I have real problems disciplining him. I have introduced a 'naughty cushion' which works great - when I can get him on there!
When he has tantrums he gets really aggressive, although when he is calm he is wonderfully affectionate. I am covered in bruises and scratches.
I don't like shouting, but have found I have had to a few times lately as he just laughs if I talk to him in a firm, hard voice.
How can I outwit him?

and don't tell me the obvious, she's just turned 5 years old, but she's always been "mama's girl" and pretends to hate "daddy"... what is with that? I am very kind to "daddy" but don't exclude her when he's there... can't figure this one out!

he loves to paint and color and stuff and they do it all the time at school. i also set time aside everyday for us to paint and do art stuff. but he still about once a week will color on the walls or couch. and now he's gotten to where instead of using a crayon, he'll climb into my closet and get out the paints. one day he found a permanent marker and one day he found fingernail polish. none of it will come out of the furnature. he usually does it in the morning when i'm asleep or when i am cleaning up from dinner or art time. i don't know what to do. i've tried spanking him, grounding him, and even breaking his toys to show him how it feels when someone tears up your stuff. nothing is working. please help. i'm starting to lose control.

We live in a two-story home with a balcony that is open to the hard tiled foyer. The wood railed banister is a standard height. I am worried that my kids might decide it would be fun to try to climb over it or (may God forbid) try repelling or jumping down. Is this a legitimate worry or am I scaring myself over nothing? My son is under 2 and is already piling toys up next to it and climbing. Obviously he is always supervised right now, but what happens when he is older and in a bed he can get out of? I know some people suggest gating the kids room, which would be fine for a year or so, but I am sure he'll figure out how to climb that before long. Our bedroom is downstairs and both children's rooms are up! I am seriously considering selling and buying a single story. Has anyone ever actually heard of kids hurting themselves in a situation like this? (No details please.) I am just trying to figure out if we should really consider moving.

I am curious how much formula/milk I should be giving my 1 year old. The first 12 months her primary source of food and calories was in formula/milk.

Now that she is older I am trying to move her to 3 meals a day with snacks in between.

Her 3 meals a day are 6-8 oz of milk/forumla with abou 2 oz of solid food and some rice.

Should I have her eat more solid food and less milk? In other words should the amount of milk she is drinking decrease while the amount of solid food increases?

Thanks

She eats her solid food, but won't drink more than a couple of oz. in of her formula in her bottle and won't take a sippy.

Any ideas on what I can do? Is it possible to add some type of flavoring to her formula to make her want it more?

THANKS

My son Shawn Wyatt (pictured in my photo) is a wonderful child, he has never given us a single problem in his life! But the past few weeks he has been drawing on every surface he can get at! Being an expert climber he has figured out how to get to all of our pens which are up on high shelves...I can't watch him 24/7 because I work from home and I wouldn't get any work done. He goes to pre-school 3 days a week, and even there he draws on everything. I don't know what to do, I've spent the last weeks scrubbing walls and floors. Its getting tiring! Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Hes 3 years old

My youngest child was very attached to her. She quit her job over the phone. How do I break the news to him in a way that won't really hurt him?

The same thing happened when my daughter was 3. She was attached to another nanny, and when she left she was devastating.

but won't go on the big girl potty, she'll pat her diaper area before she goes and is really good about telling me when she is #2 so that she can get changed btu everytime I put her on the potty she doesn't do anything and I don't make a big deal about it when she doesn't becasue when she really is ready I don't want her to be scared to go. Any tips on how to get her to go at least once so she knows that it's a really good thing to go in the potty. She'll be 2 in about three months.

I have a 3 year old daughter and ever since yesterday or the day before she hasn't really eaten as much as she usually eats, and she could eat alot. She's just been eating like snacks and stuff here & there. I try to feed her but she seems to only eat a little bit.
I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but her dad and I are kind of going through a seperation right now and I was wondering if this is bothering her.
I want to call her dad and tell him to see if he can help any, but I don't want to bother him. I'm trying to "leave him alone" now.
I'm getting really worried. what can I do? could it be because of the situation between me & her dad?
help me :(
