My youngest child was very attached to her. She quit her job over the phone. How do I break the news to him in a way that won't really hurt him?

The same thing happened when my daughter was 3. She was attached to another nanny, and when she left she was devastating.

Tell him she loved him but she had another family that needed her more. Kids don't understand the difference between employees and family so it is very hard on them.

Explain to the child that the nanny had to go help another family. And that she was really sorry that she had to leave so quickly but there was a little girl that really needed a nanny to love her. This may help them understand a little more without hearing negitive comments about the person they love, good luck!
