My daughter just turned 2. She was a late walker (started at 18 months). Her left foot turns out(not alot, but enough to be noticed) and is bowed at the ankle. It looks like it can break @ anytime. It's not causing her any pain. I was concerned when she started walking and asked my dr. She said is was "ducked" and she should grow out of it. I'm concerned it's something more serious. It's been almost 7 months. She can't run that good and waddles when she runs or walks. I'm wondering if she needs a brace. Did anyone else have this problem and how did you fix it? What is this condition called? Do you know anyone that has had this problem? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

she seems to know when she needs to wee and poo i've tried training nappies and nickers but she uses them instead of the potty, she does have trouble with her bowels, she finds it hard with a nappy on but I have to remove it and she'll sit on the potty otherwise it could take hours

My daughter is a very curious crawler and constantly goes for things she cannot have. I tell her "no" in a firm tone and remove her hands or her from the situation, and she either cries and tries to go for the object again, or she laughs and thinks it's a game, and still tries to get at the not-allowed item again. She also wiggles and squirms uncontrollably on the changing table and in my arms sometimes, and no amount of "no" or positive reinforcement when she stays still has made any difference so far. I fear she'll only get harder to manage if we don't do something soon to get her to listen to us. Any advice? Thanks!

My daughter is goin to be 3 in december, she has been potty trained since she was 2, and for the last 6 months she has had only one or two accidents ! Well last night she went in her pee in her underwear and we changed them..then she woke up, and said she had to go pee and she went in the potty about 1am, well 2 am comes and she peed her underwear again, then when we woke up she went pee in her underwear again, then we found pee spots throughout the house and when she goes pee she goes right by the toilet on the floor! She has had about 6 accidents just this morning and she hasnt even had more then a cup of juice? Is this an attention thing, why is she doing this?

My brother in law and his girlfriend have a 3 yr old little girl. They do not buckle their little girl in her carseat because she screams. I am deeply horrified by their immaturity, and I want to say something, but the problem is that they're family, and I don't want to create enemies with them.

I would like to email them this link http://youtube.com/watch?v=azgBhZfcqaQ . What do you think?

I'm concerned that I'm overstepping my place as this child's aunt... But I want to send the link to them so BADLY in hopes that the video will make them think twice about ever again letting their child go in the car without being properly restrained in her seat! Should I mind my own buisness, or should I step in?

i have a 2 month old and it is hard splitting my time between the 2 of them. of course my 2 month old gets most of the attention because of brestfeeding diapers and calming her down if she is fussy. my son almst 4 will not play by himself . he will only play when some one is playing with him. and when i can't he just wants to watch t.v.. i'm not to crazy about t.v, for him in the first place but he watches a total of 5 hours a day. spaced out of course. i feel terribale...

My son goes in for his 12 month vaccines today.....and I'm concerned about the stuff I've read on mercury content in the vacciness related to autism. Is there any shots that I should have some second thoughts on or perhaps discuss with his pediatrician. ? Or are there any shots that parents have put on hold for the same reason ?

My 12 month old son is so bored at home . I can't play with him 24/7 as I also work from home. What do I do to keep him occupied. He has begun walking and so I've bought him a bike that he could ride on. He also has toys that he could play with, but he is not the least interested in them. Suggest some activities or toys that would engage him for a longer stretch of time. Thanks, any advise is appreciated

About two months before we had our second child, we switched our son from crib to his own room. It actually went very well. He's happy in his room. There's just one problem--he destroys it each night.

We understand that he's been given the freedom to run around his room and destroy it. It's annoying, but he's 2.

We don't know how to get him to stay in bed though. Now that his sister is here, I'm the only one in the house at night as my husband works. She's only a few weeks old, and breastfeeds every 2-3 hours As a result, I can't just put my son back in his bed.

Usually he just pulls out the clothes and spreads the books on the floor.

Last night he CLIMBED onto the desk and dresser and got some paintings off the wall. How'd he manage that? We have no flipping idea.

Despite being scary, now he's gone to the next level.

So parents--how did you get your toddler to SLEEP in the bed?

Our son is very active, and as a result as take 2 walks a day, play in a park, etc.

The son is 3 years old. He is our neighbor. The father always competes with the son, teases him, does not allow the child to do what he wants, does not allow the grandparents to take the son out, is always possessive. All the time the son is crying and the father is doing the same thing again and again. Is this healthy? The mother is always fighting with the kid but does not do anything else. But she scolds her husband but at times she cannot control him. I am curious to know what can be the outcome for this kid. Thanks.

I've been trying to toilet train my two and a half year old daughter for the past four days. Pull ups didn't work, because it didn't click in her head that it wasn't a diaper. So I tried putting her in regular underwear, but she never made it to the toilet on time. I think she was confounded by having to take clothing off to go to the bathroom. (Plus she catches the impulse to pee pretty late.)

So I tried keeping her naked, and she always made it to the potty. Now she's pretty good at going to the potty --- but only when she's naked! Otherwise she pees in whatever she is wearing.

How do I bridge the gap and get her to wear clothing and use the potty? Do kids go through a naked stage while potty training?

Should I just wait a bit longer to put her in clothing until she's a pro at reading her signals?

I need advice and tips.

My nephew is turning 3 this weekend so I need a birthday present
I don't want to be boring and give him clothes or stuff for his room but he has so much toys! I just don't want to give something that he already has.

Any ideas? What does 3 year old boys like, but not usually have? I will just go there and give him the gift, so I won't have time to bring him somewhere or arrange a fun event.
What's popular now in US? It will probably come to Europe soon so he can be a bit ahead.

Up to around US$20 would be good...

Thanks!

My son who will be 3 in October has been toilet trainned for a while now, he took to it really easily but the problem i have is when he wears his pants with trousers he seems to forget about going on the toilet. If he wears pants without trousers he tells me when he needs to go toilet and goes on toilet but when i put trousers on him with his pants he has an accident and when he realise's he is wet he tells me then he needs to go. I have spoken to H.V. and they said just leave the trousers off but he is going nursery in Jan and would like this problem to be solved by then, did not really want to go backwards. He is my eldest and have no elder children to show him. Any answers please, much appreicated.

Ever since my son was 4 mo. old my husband and I noticed her hands always on his crotch and said something many times. My son is 4 yrs old now and recently has come foward that his grandmom touches him down there. My son recently started pre-k and has been acting out severely in school. He has been hitting, biting, spitting, breaking things, talking back excessively as well as he is fully potty trained but will pee on his br floor or in his bed, he has a decrease in appetite, always wants one of us to sleep with him, afraid of the dark, and has even touched my husband and I there and has been asking that others touch him there. I am stuck between a rock and hard place because this is my adopted mother that is supposedly doing this and I have done nothing but love and be there for my son and go to college to be a teacher and graduating this spring. I also overheard her talking to him in br and not cool. What do I do? This is my mom and yet it is my job to protect my son.

I'm trying to potty train our son, who is 2 1/2. I've tried different forms of rewards for going potty but nothing really caught his fancy. That is until we were at a festival and he got a temporary tattoo.
Today he told me he wanted to use the potty, so I took him in. He got bored after 30 seconds and wanted off. I told him if he stayed on and went poop I'd give him some stickers. He didn't care, so I told him I'd get him some temporary tattoos tomorrow if he went poop. That did the trick, and a few minutes later I was praising my boy for going potty.
I talked to my husband via email,he just hasn't responded back yet. What do you think?
