my daughter is 16 months old. I while back she had a bad infection in her throat. I don't know if it has anything to do with this, but she can only take slow flow bottles, where the nipple collapses type slow. I AM trying to get her on the sippy cup, shell take it, but she keeps choking, because on slow flow piece inside, it is still too quick for her, does anyone have any ideas plzzzzzz. i dont want her to get bottle rot, and once she takes the sip and chokes she screams for the bottle.

I recently decided to go back to college, it has been 2 years since I have seen the inside of a university. I only work on weekends, so that really isnt a big deal. What I guess that I am asking is, how do I make time for school work, my two year old, my husband, and house work while still having a sense of self? I need a little time for me, whether that time involves talking to people, resting, etc. Any advice that isnt harsh would be helpful. Thank you.

I'm sorry, I closed my original question by mistake. Please respond to this.

My 3 year old son's pediatrician has told that my son has flat feet and that it is better if he wears corrective shoes from now on. His foot leans away from the ankle and he also has flat feet. The pediatrician told me that at this stage my son doesn't need a podiatrist. I trust my pediatrician, and if she says I don't need to see a podiatrist now, I will defer it for now. She suggested that I buy a shoes called "Naturino". Apparently, it was very effective for some other child with a similar problem. But when I checked it out on the website, I was not happy with the choices available online. I would like to visit a store and try out the shoes on my son before I buy them. If there are any other shoes that are effective, I would like to know please. Can someone please tell me where I can buy corrective shoes in New Jersey, USA? Thank You.

i have 3 sons a 10 yr old, 21 month old and 9 month old.My problem is the middle one all three have been brought up the same way with the same rules etc but he is just totally out of control, he is violent to everybody going out anywhere is a nightmare as he is a complete houdini at getting out of his buggy then he just runs off causing chaos as he goes.At home it is as if he just tries his hardest to be as naughty as possible.I have asked my health visitor for advice and she just says he is very intelligent and getting frustrated we have tried time outs and all the other popular methods but nothing works with him, he is too young to understand me explaining to him why he is doing wrong and yet I know that he knows he is being naughty. Another problem is he has a very high pitched scream that goes on and on whenever he doesnt get his own way or you take something off him.Our home is a fortress with locks and gates but nothing stops him and I am at the end of my tether.

My son has shown great interest in new pants and is really good at using the potty at home. However, he is usually naked bottom half, which is fine becuase of the summer and he is at home. The moment I put pants on him him forgets and even though I do keep checking, I do not want to nag and he keeps saying he is ok and then two seconds later an accident occurs.

The real problem lies at nursery where I always pack spares and a pull up because it has only been two weeks. He is getting through the spares and they are putting him in the pull up, which I think is confusing him and want to stop packing it, but am also really stumped as to how to get him to tell the teachers he needs a wee before he has wet himself.

I would like to get him to tell me he needs a wee before he does it too!

Any advice would be helpful

I have 2 year old twin girls. They BOTH listen to their daddy. I have to threaten them by sayin " I'm gonna get daddy " for them to listen to me. One of them listen to me to a certain extent, but the other one, not at all. I treat them both equally, what one has, the other has, what one gets the other gets, so its not a jealous issue! Any suggestions???

We babysit for our friends' 14 month old son. He weighs about 20 lbs, and has 4 bowl movements each day. Often times two while we are watching him. Is there something wrong, should we be concerned?

My 2 year old, he's been doing this on and off for the past few months, but now it's been happening about 4 weeks in a row. At night, he goes to bed around 6.30pm. As soon as I go to bed, around 10pm to midnight, 10mins later, he'll scream like some one has stabbed him. I run in there, and he's sitting up in his bed, smiling, and says 'Hey!' then points to something in his room e.g. a horse on his curtain, and says 'horse' very proudly.

Anyway, this has been happening like clockwork (almost) at midnight, then 3am, then 5am. It's not just once at these times, it's probably 4 or 5, with about 10mins in between.

It's definetly not pain, teething, anything like that, I am 100% sure. And generally I'm quite firm with parenting, I have my rules, but I am quite flexible to allow for various things, especially fun!

My partner works long hours, so I don't like to use 'controlled crying' as much as I have found it to work in the past with him. The trouble I have tho....

My daughter seems to be quick to pick up words, but not proper pronunciation or short sentences. She still uses a lot of babble too. I do everything I can to help her - I sound it out, I read slow and clear, I don't baby talk to her, etc. But I feel as though she's behind other toddlers her age? Does any one have a similar experience and what came of it? Or is this pretty typical? This is my first child and I keep hearing different things.

I was at the grocery store with my 2 year old and she was acting TERRIBLE! She's normally behaved, but I was embarrassed. I'm not a spanker either and I believe in the power of ignoring tantrums, but it was difficult to ignore. How do you normally react?

My boy Jeffrey loves to play Mask. He runs around the house with a plastic bag on his head, thinking he's Darth Vader or something. Leaves him breathless he has so much fun.

I have a 20 month old son and I have noticed I get annoyed with a lot of "parental behavior" like that. So what annoys you?

Me it has to be when children that can walk are still drinking out of bottles. Or older children with paci's (like we saw a kid playing a ds and he was also sucking on a pacifire... What bugs you?

My car is a '99 Accord without the tether bars. I would like some feedback on your opinion about purchasing a vehicle that includes the tether bars for our baby's carseat. Is it safer to use the tether bars and top latch?

Please view the following, WONDERFUL youtube video that has me thinking that it might be time to buy a newer car with tether bars... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azgBhZfcqaQ&mode=related&search=

Also, we bought a plain old evenflo convertable car seat. Do you recommend exchaning the carseat that we have for a Britex Regal (that goes up to 60 lbs)?

Thank you!
