He is absolutely not too young to have a sippy cup. Especially if he already has some and knows how to use them, he can be weaned his bottle anytime now.
Doctors quite often tend to recommend weaning off the bottle around the year mark anyway - the bottle can (not always) interfere with dental development.
The sooner he's off the bottle, the easier of a transition it will be. The longer he has it, the more likely he'll be to get really attached to it.

He's certainly not to little for a sippy cup. I don't understand the reasoning behind keeping him on the bottle. Both of my kids were well into sippy cups by 18 months.

He should NOT still be on the bottle. It will ruin his teeth. He should definitely change to a sippy cup. A baby should be weaned off the bottle at 1 year.

The health dept. gave me a sippy cup for my kids when they were 6 mo old. By the time they were 1 yr the bottle was gone and they only had sippy's. The longer they are on the bottle the harder on their teeth it is.

He should be using a sippy cup now, he is definatly old enough. I took away my daughter's bottle when she was about 14 months old, unless she was really sick and refused the cup. He should be ok, if he is your child then just take the bottle away cold turkey, give him the cup from now on, he will get it. Good Luck!

My doctor told me to take her off the bottle at 12 months. It was difficult at first to get her completely off...but if you keep trying every day, it will work.
Start during the day first with juices/milk when he eats. Once he has become accustomed to that, then move onto doing it for the night time bottle. That one is always the hardest.
Keeping the child on the bottle at this age isn't good for their teeth. Plus, the longer they stay on it, the harder it will be to ween them off.
