My daughter got a ride on car (platic 4 wheel type), a fisher price ball spinner toy and peek-a-blocks for her 1st birthday.

Other things I recommend are those platic cubby houses for outside (BIG W has one on special starting tomorrow for $98 save $50) which they can play in endlessly (my daughter is 5 now and still playing in it ) swing sets and slides. Other inside toys are 'duplo' blocks, musical toys like play guitars and accordians ('wiggles' one at k-mart on special this week $20) and also dolly prams are a BIG hit with little girls! Her first 'baby born' doll and a pram will be a great idea!

Try toys'r'us for excellent kids bargains! I love shopping there for toys as they have awesome specials!

Hope this helps you out! Happy first birthday to your daughter!

My boy just turned 1 this weekend and we got him a ball play yard. It's a little fabric house filled with plastic balls, the kids go in there and play with the balls. He's only had it for a few days and he loves it!

We bought our granddaughter a little car that she rides and plays music when she pushes the buttons on the steering wheel. She absolutely loves it. She's 20 months old now and still rides that little car almost every day.

To be honest, whatever you get her, as a 1-year-old she'll be more interested in the wrapper and box than what's actually inside! So don't spend too much money on fancy gifts, get her some fun educational stuff that you both can enjoy together, i.e. puzzles, books. etc. Hope that helps :)

ummm... she is one... Well I BET she would LOVE a mud bath... get a little plastic box or something, and fill it up with mud, then warm water... come to think of it, I would love that!!! Also, give her something like a teddy bear? toddlers are EASILY fascinated, give her a bug lol. (when I was little I loved to play with bugs)...
