She will pee on the toilet but she has to be told to go. She has only had a bm on the toilet twice and that's after crying and sitting on the toilet forever. I have tried taking her favorite toys and movies from her but she doesn't really care. I've tried treats and a reward chart. The times that she does go I make a really big deal of it and she seems proud but she doesn't keep it up. I'm frustrated and I know that she's tired of talking about it. When I ask her why she won't go on the toilet she just says, I don't know. She's a very smart child and on task in every other way. That makes it even more difficult for me to understand why this is such a challenge for her. Family and friends suggest spanking her but I don't want to make her afraid if she has an accident. I mentioned it to her dr. and she said give her a little more time. She had an accident the last three days. Today, we both ended up in tears.

I' want to get my 20 month old daughter's ears pierced but I'm very nervous how she will handle the pain (and how I'LL handle her!). Even the ride back seems daunting to me! Any advice from experienced mothers out there?

Today I was at the park with my 20 month old and 2 month old daughters and my 13 year old niece. My 13 year old was taking my 20 month old to the slide and when they got there, my daughter slipped down and fell on her knees, skinned them both and was crying histerically. I picked her up, put some band-aids on them and cradled her. We then left and when we got home I would let my 20 month old out of my sight. She either had to be being carried by me or be holding my hand or be directly infront of me or on a harness. Then when she went to bed I stayed by her crib. Is this over-protective or am I just a worried parent. It's been bothering me for hours.

We had the worse trouble with potty training. Finally we had to bribe her with candy to get her potty trained. Now we've been working on her wetting the bed at night and so far nothing we've done seems to work. We've even woke her up in the middle of the night and took her to the bathroom and the next morning her bed was still went. Does anyone else have any good ideas?

My daughter fell flat on her face while running in our kitchen. To me her nose looks strange now, slightly distorted. Is it possible to break a nose at this young age?

My baby is 2 and a half and still won't walk - i've tried several exercises with her but she just won't do it. Doctors say that they can't do anything to help until she reaches 3 but she is getting so heavy, i'm really struggling now.

She is worried that I may put him in his room for several hours or that I tell him he is "bad" because I have mentioned that he really pushes my buttons most days. I can't believe she would think this! The ONLY thing I have ever said is that I had a really bad headache last night and put the kids to bed at 8pm instead of 9:30pm. Is this most likely just a common concern and not an accusation?

How do i make my 3 year old sleep at night? She will not go to bed. She lays down and decideds "I'm hungry. I'm really Hungery!"
So last night I fed her and she ate a ton. She eats supper and I offer her a snack before bed.
What else can I do? I'm at my wits end. She barely sleeps! And no nap most days. the last 3 days she's been up till 2 am. Today I woke her up at 6:30 am wheen I wake up.
Don't know if it will work...
Any experience in this?

My daughter once took her nappy off and put a bit of her own poop in her mouth. Yuk! She was 12 months old.
And my mum said I ate a yellow slug.
What about you?

My daughter is 16 months old, and she still nurses? I once heard that pedeutritions recommend one year of nursing, however 2 yrs is excellent. I have no problems with it and it keep my little girl happy and healthy.
I have been getting alot of slack from friends and family saying she is too old to be nursing. But I have no problems with it. At first I lost weight but now that I am at the average weight I am supposed to be at, I do not go any lower, even though I continue to nurse...and I do not do it as much anymore.
What are your opinions?

My 20 month old daughter has been sleeping through the night like a champ since she was about 9 months old. I very rarely have to go into her room at night anymore (normally only when she doesn't feel well). However, occassionally she wakes up crying really hard. Body racking, choking, can't breathe, sobs. All I have to do is go into her room, pick her up out of her crib, and sit down in the chair in her room. She (usually) just collapses right onto my shoulder, twirls my hair in her little fingers, and promptly goes back to sleep. I would like to know your opionions on whether or not you think she is having nightmares? I know that she is old enought to remember things, and retain information, so I was just wondering what other parents think (or have experienced). Thanks for your responses!

My son is 2 and has been quite picky lately at dinner. I need to get more veggies and meat into him. He will eat fruit all day if I let him and he doesn't eat junk food. He just really REALLY likes carbs! He will eat his pasta or potato and bread and then not anything else.

Any foods/recipes that your toddler loves? I am primarily interested in meats and veggies but am also open to other ideas.

I am also going to try to give him his dinner plate with no carbs and see what he eats of that first and then give him a small portion of our starch a few minutes later. Has anyone else done this? Did it help?

Thanks!!

We have found someone to care for our children after school for 3 hours a day. We want to do a background check and anything else necessary. How would we go about it? We purposely aren't using an agency so we can avoid paying agency fees.

Someone I knew asked me today about her daughter's problem, which I found very unusual. She has a 3 year old girl, actve happy and healthy. This morning the girl suddenly had a blank look in her eyes and did not answer her parents asking her whats wrong....she coughed once and looked very weak ,and she was like unaware of her surroundings...few minutes later she fell asleep. When she wakes up,she was back to normal. Her mom told me this is the 2nd time. The kid was not hungry, not tired,no convulsion...nothing.Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong here? thank you.

My little boy is 20 months and I have now nursed longer than I planned too. I would do it cold turkey, but its the only way I know to get him to fall asleep and he only nurses at night. Problem is, is he doesn't like the binky or bottle. I've become my babys wooby/ security almost. Should I allow him to wean himself, or how do I start to wean? I heard putting plain cinnomon powder on the nipples will make him less intrested cause of the taste. Any other suggestions?
