He has been eating solids for quite awhile. In fact he doesn't really eat baby food. His routine is to get up at 7 - bottle at 7:30 (for all his bottles he eats between 5 and 8 ounces) Breakfast at around 8 - 8:30. Nap 9 til 11. Bottle 11:30 lunch about an hour later. A snack if he seems hungry. Then he has another nap at around 2 til 4. Bottle 4:30 dinner an hour later. A bottle at around 8 then bedtime. He eats really well at all meals except for breakfast.

i agree with booboo. the bottle should always be offered first because its still providing essential nutrients the baby needs. but he wont need one every 3-4 hours because he is at the age where he will substitute some of these feeds with solids and water or juice.
i'll give you an example of my sons routine. he is around the same age, i am weaning him off the breast but its still the same idea
*wakes up. 6.30am - bottle (formula)
*breakfast
*nap time 9.30am - breast milk (or formula if you do this)
*wake up 11.30-12 - lunch with juice or water (give at same time because the fluids wont fill him up like formula will)
*nap time 4pm - breast (or formula like above)
*wake up 6pm - dinner and water or juice
*bed at 8pm - formula

but there is no limit to water, so dont worry that he will be dehydrated because this will be fine in between meals, and remember that a baby/child needs milk for calcium so they will never stop needing it, you just substitute the formula for cows milk but wean slowly
Hope i helped. good luck.

After a year old is when you generally make the switch from milk-then-solids to solids-then-milk. Before a year old, they REALLY need the fats from the milk, and the denser nutrition that it contains, not to mention the extra antibodies and immune enhancing stuff.

If he's drinking formula though, it may be different - I have never used it, so don't know.

At this point I had my son drinking from a sippy cup. It is just a glorified bottle but it was a step to getting him to stop taking the bottle. I had him mainly on solids at 10 months. Food and drink together like any meal.

that depends on how much milk he's drinking. if he's drinking milk at the expense of eating good meals, then try to feed him the food first and give him the milk- and, yes, he's old enough to be weaned to a sippy cup- after. if he can eat well and drink at the same time, do that . he doesn't need more than 32 ounces of milk in 24 hours, so judge it by that.

ummm you should never give a baby solid food before a bottel and I would say when he gets all his teeth in b/c i give my 1 1/2 year old solid food now that she has her baby teeth

you should had gave him/her solid food long ago starting with mushed potatoes, mushed pumpinks, carrot, chicken soup, vegetables soup, chicken, tuna, spaghetti and fish. mine is 1 yrs old. and he eats almost everything that i eat. including bread, cheese, apple, fruits juices etc. give the toddler in the morning a fruit salad with apple, banana and orange juice. or water after eating the fruits. good luck!!
