okay maybe I should expand...he has been to the doc, it is a virus and he has been drinking gatoraide (he spits pedialyte across the room) she recommended the brat diet but thus far seems to not be doing the trick...my husband is going to pick up some banana yogurt to see how that will do...

YOGURT and CHEESE!! This has worked on all 3 of my kids. Make sure he is getting plenty of water and give him as much yogurt and cheese as he can eat. The acidopholus (sp) in the yogurt is what helps stop diarrhea!

Anytime diarrhea is an issue it usually means that he is impacted and needs help. When my children were little, I would give them an enema on rare occasions especially when they had a fever. His body is trying to throw off toxins and thus by creating a rash. A doctor won't know what to do. They will probably subcribe something to stop the diarrhea which will only hide the problem..Assist your sons body by giving him lots of carrot juice and goats milk for protein. Mix the two together if he drinks a bottle. Mix half and half. You'll see that his stool will become solid and the rash will go away. Put olive oil on his rash to coat.

Call his doctor. My doctor allowed me to give my 2 year-old Children's Immodium, but you need to get the correct dose from his doctor based on his weight. Also do the B.R.A.T diet : Banana, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast.

STOP giving the poor child gatorade! You are only making the problem worse! Gatorade is NOT for pediatric diarrhea! DO what the doctor told you to DO! PEDIALYTE, It comes in many forms, popcicles, lollipops, gummies, as well as the drink. Mix it with juice or water. But do NOT give that poor baby gatorade (the intelectually challenged raising children...heaven help us)
