pull-ups may work for some but not my son (or daughter either) but my son would not go until I started letting him run around nakey for a few wks. I am a stay at home mom, too, so that works out great! I have heard of it before as a good way to potty train, my pediatrician even recommended it. One mom explained it as the child not wanting to feel the pee on their foot or legs. One mom explained it that the child can feel the urge better when they are naked. ??? I dont know why, but I know it works for many kids- it really may work for your son!

Your son is doing so good! I have heard that boys are harder to train, so he is getting the whole idea. You are so lucky that you stay home with him and are able to do whatever you want to help him, when I started training my daughter I took the diapers away all together and made sure to remind her every so often to go potty and made a big deal (jumping, dancing, clapping) when she didn't wet her undies and she loved it, I say try to let him go bottomless for a few days and then teach him to keep his undies dry, it sounds like he is very smart so he will be fine, and don't make the mistake of comparing him to other kids that got trained before him or that never had an accident, good luck with everything!

My 26 month old daughter is demonstrating the very same behavior. When at home it might be all the well to let them run around naked but unfortunately society has rules about that kind of behavior in public. What has been working for me is those pampers feel and learn pullups. I set a timer and make sure to check her every hour if she has to go to the bathroom or not. Once he gets in the habit of wearing underwear and in a routine, the pants wetting should get better. If you try for a few weeks and have no luck then I would consult your peditrician. Every child is different. Good luck!

General consensus is that kids potty train between 2 and 3 but boys are slower. What worked for my kids is The Potty Stool http://www.thepottystool.com This stool makes every toilet kid-sized. The handles on this stool make all the difference. My son benefited from standing to pee and seeing what was happening so he could connect the sensations. My kids potty trained quickly because they were so excited about this stool. I like that it is sturdy and safe and lets kids go on their own. The best part is kids use it for years. Hope this helps.

When my son was going through potty training, I had him wear a thick underwear called Gerber cloth training pants (available at wal-mart, K-Mart, Shopko or Target) with jeans over it. If he wet himself, he would feel it all over his legs. There was more laundry for me but jeans don't immediately air dry like bare legs would. Jeans will stay wet until my son complains that he wants them off. The thicker underwear helps because the puddle on the floor was smaller. Cloth training pants can catch small leaks. Sometimes potty training has to be messy like that. Do you have a washer and dryer in your house? It helps a lot if you do.

I would let him run around bottomless. It worked for my son & my mom said that's how everyone used to do it back in her day. Once he gets the hang of it really good you can go back to underwear.

I think you should put underwear on him and when he pees on them he will feel the wet and he wont like it. it will be irritating to him and he will want them dry so maybe then he will go in da potty and not on his "big boy underwear"

maybe don't put a diaper on him, but put regular underware and pants on him. the first time he soils them he'll know it and won't like it. then he'll go in the potty.
