I've already told him he's not ugly and that God made him beautiful. I don't wanna make a big deal out of it, he doesn't, but I want him to see that he is beautiful.

My son may have high functioning autism or pdd. He was stuck on pretending to be one character from TV. He now changes depending on what show he just watched. Is this normal for a child to be so involved playing and role playing characters such as peter pan, pink panther or tom and jerry?

My husband and I have a controlled seperation (limited time, while we get therapy and work on our selves). We have two kids, and the youngest is showing behavior problems. I can tell he is affected by my husband's and my problems. My 3 year old wants attention and is hitting, throwing things, and I feel like I am constantly disciplining him. I am just afraid that this seperation will affect him long term, his pediatrician says he is too young for therapy though. I need advice on therapy for my son!

We always get down to his level and tell him no. But he just reaches up and smacks me again. I am getting very frustrated and am afraid he is going to hurt another child @ daycare. Any suggestions? I know this is "normal" for his age but I do not know how to get him to understand that it is not allowed. We are very firm with our kids and expect them to be respectful and listen to their elders. But.... how do you help such a young child understand?

Airplane food is so bad I at least wanted to bring some fruits/vegetables for my toddler. I want to bring the jarred foods because they're vacuum packed so will last the duration of the flight.
But did anyone else notice that jarred baby food comes in 4 oz (or more for the stage 3 foods), and the TSA traveling guidelines for food says it needs to be in a 3 oz. container? It looks like the folks coming up with the rules don't have kids or have never bought food for young children. Everything comes in 4 oz as the smallest size!
Ex. children's yogurt

My question: has anyone traveled with a toddler (not an infant) and tried to bring a 4 oz jar of baby/toddler food? Did they let you through?

(note: I've already thoroughly read the TSA website and there really is no specific info; just the 3-1-1 rule.)

My wife got into the habit of putting our 1 year old son in the shower with me to bathe because it was easier. Now he's 3.5 and he still loves hopping in the tub or shower with me but I feel like I should be in a bathing suit now. Sometimes I wear a bathing suit! My wife says, 'he's use to it so he shouldn't be uncomfortable.' I'm just worried about it being inappropriate now.

sooo, my daughter is 22 months and she has been going potty on the potty chair for about 2 months now, but only when she wants to, and not even everyday. well, the last few days she has been going on the potty several times a day and today she wore big girl undies and only had 1 accident.
i guess my question is how long do you all think it will be before we can throw out the diapers? and how old are kids ussually when they are tottally done with diapers?

i have been with this girl for over a year. she has 2 kids. ages 4 and 1 (not mines). she was pregnant before we even met. she just didn't know it. the problem is that since its hot in the bedroom she lets the 4 year old sleep with us. anyways it is too hot to be sleeping with 3 people. so i just sleep on the living room couch. she says that her kids come b4 anyone and that she decides when and where they will sleep. i told her that if i am the man you want to be with and help raise the kids then my feelings should be considered and my opinion counts for something. i hate this because i love her and want to be with her. she told me that when we get them a bed then they will sleep in it. the 4 year old has a toddler bed but his cousins and him jump on it so much that it is messed up. i feel like the kids should be in their own room (especially the 4 year old) and that if i go into the living room to sleep then she should come and check on me. why have a man if kids r in bed with you

Im having trouble discipling my boy, he is 3 years old going on 4 and he is out of control. He was crying talking back telling me what he did and did not want to do, all i wanted was for him to take a nap. This was not happening a few weeks ago. I try to discipline him without hitting him but it did not work. I'm down Im my self very hard. Sometimes I think that he respects his grandparents more than me. This is very upseting to me.
