Sometimes I think my 5 year old son has lost his mind. He climbs everything, always on the move, jumps on people (mainly me) and even people he doesn't know. Does not listen at all, spankings don't faze him, and time out is a joke. I put movies in the DVD and try to sit with him to watch a movie and he only last 10 minutes tops. It's a horror show when we go out to eat, the whole family suffers. I feel like all I do is spank him and scream at him. I can feel my self become so angry with him I want to wrap my fingers around his neck. I took him to see his doctor today to see if he has ADHD. My EX mother in law is so upset with me because I think my son needs medication, but on the same hand she will take my other two kids to her house to spend the night, but not my son! She told my 14 yr old daughter that medicating my son is wrong, I informed her that she is welcomed to take my son for 2 weeks to see how long she can take him, I give her 1 day, she doesn't want me to medicate him. help

I have to get a babysitter so I can vaccum the house! It's rediculous! I turn it on and he screams bloody murder, he's 1 yo and I used to use the vaccum to soothe him to sleep when he was an infant now he hates it. He SCREAMS like hes being beat, his face turns red and he runs out of breath he cries so hard, I can hear him over the vaccum on the other side of the house. I've tryed letting him play on it, bringing him to it while its on, holding him while i vaccum and turning it on while hes right next to it and trying to show him it cant hurt him, what else can I do to help him overcome his fear of the vaccum so I can get on with life and clean my house??? Please help!

Hey! My son is 14-months old and he is still throwing down his sippy cup when he's finished with it. He doesn't sit it down, he CHUNKS it to the floor. He even does it when he's in his highchair. He also throws his late down when he's finished eating. He's been on a sippy cup for about 4 months now and has been walking since he was 9 1/2 months. Does anybody have this problem, how did you stop it!? Thanks so much ladies!

in the area that I live in. Have you been experiencing the same thing where you live?I know it tends to happen this time of year but the local numbers here are astounding!! PLEASE PLEASE everyone watch your kids like a hawk around water! It only takes a second! In the past 4 days here we have had drownings of a 40 year old man, 2 year old child, 19 year old boy and the near drownings of kids ages 3, 5 and 9. Everyone should take the time to make sure your kids are safe around water.

I don't know where she gets it from, but it really bothers me that she does this. She leaves red marks and welts on her wrists. We do not spank or hit as discipline at home. Do other kids her age react this way?

My daughter goes to daycare on Thursdays until 12:00 and then until 2:30 on Fridays.

Every Friday (only) the teacher insists she is sick. They say she is running a high fever and this past Friday we had to pick her up because they claimed she threw up. However, when we bring her home, she is just fine. She is 10 months old and teething. This past Friday, she came home, had lunch, played, etc. She had a slight fever (it never registered past 99.1) and they said she had a fever of 102. I have had her to the doctor twice and he said, "Baby's temps fluctuate). I am not the type to bring my child to daycare sick. However, why do they keep saying she is sick and we bring her home and she is fine? Do they not like her? They did have her this past Friday outside in 92 degree heat and she had a bit of a sunburn. Perhaps that is why she had a "fever?"

HELP. What do I do. I'm tired of them saying she is sick when she is NOT!

My daughter is 16 months old and hasn't really shown an interest in going potty. We bought her a seat 2 months ago and she will sit on it, but nothing else. She is to the point where she will take off her diaper if she can. When we change her, she refuses to cooperate. She will turn and twist and stiffen up and this is terrible when it's a #2! It is getting to be hell for us!!! I've heard of people potting training at this age... so, HELP!! Any tips will be helpful and very much appreciated!!

My child is 2 years and 5 months although he is very verbal I can only understand maybe four or five words that he says.

I know all children are different but this is really worrying me. My daughter had a sereve speech problem and did not speek at all unitl she was 3 and half. We had to take her to see numerious doctors and specialists but no one could ever find a reason, I don't want my son to have to go through that and I certainly do not want him to be labelled as special needs like my daughter was. My daughter is now 7 and the special needs label still haunts her although she had never had a difficulty since age 3, in the end we had to change her school. I have always said that if my daughter did have a problem we would welcome any help we could be given but no one ever did help, the teacher just told her she was useless.

My son will start playgroup next term and I am very worried it could all happend again.

His mom, Lorie, is trying to homeschool Chase for the summer. Lorie and Chase only get a disability check for Chase in the amount of about $600. Yes they are both on Medicaid and their medical bills are met. Lorie has never been able to work since having Chase. My daughter is a great mother and only I have seem some of the trials and tribulations she has gone thru for her son. What Lorie needs right now is teaching tools so she will be able to homeschool her son this summer. She does not have enough money to purchase materials after she pays rent, utilities, clothing for both and personal items. She has no auto. Chase is still in pull-ups and she desperately needs tools to help him overcome pull-ups. She needs tools or cds about how you get an austistic child to brush his teeth, because so far, Chase will not. She and I did not want this to sound like a hard-luck story, but in a way that is exactly what it is. Do you know anyone who can help Chase and his mom?
Thanks

What do you think? My 2 1/2 year old daughter pointed to a picture of my grandfather, who died before I was born, and said "grandpa". I never told her who he was either. She's always laughing when she's by herself and pointing as if she sees someone. I wonder if it's my grandpa, or her guardian angel.

Hi,

My son is 17 months old. He's never been a 'good' sleeper, but he generally sleeps all night without fussing now. My problem is that he wakes up an hour earlier than I really want to. I know, that's my problem, and I should get up, right? No - then he wakes an hour earlier than that! And then earlier ... earlier... seriously, I've tried that angle and he (and me too) winds up so sleep deprived it's pitiful. Right now I'm letting him cry until the time I deem to be 'morning'. But that's a really crummy way to start off every morning.

I've got the window blocked so nearly no light comes in, and a fan going constanly to try to drown out the sounds of the neighbourhood waking. I"ve tried varying bedtimes forward and backward. I've tried 'pushing' naptimes and I've tried cutting back on naps.

In short, I'm going nuts and hate my mornings. If I wake up before he does, I can't go back to sleep because I dread his wake-up time, then feel guilty for that!

I need suggestions! Thanks!

My 3 year old loves them. They're coming to our area - about an hour away, but wondering if its worth it - think tix are in the $30's, but watching a DVD of them, they play such big arenas, I think my 3 year old might get a little mad or sad, not being able to see them up close?

Im working on getting dad, and 3 of his friends to dress up for their bday party - Id even make them shirts, but its been harder then I thought to find 3 other takers!
