My little girl is just over 2 years old and she is very interested in the potty but she only tells me that she has to “pee” AFTER she has done her stuff. How do I get her to tell me before? She likes sitting on it and washing her hands but she just cant seem to get to the potty in time. She wears her underpants and pull-ups but nothing really seems to convince her that using the potty is the best idea. I am at my wits end!!!

She just turned 3 this month. We have tried the pull ups, letting her go with just panties and feeling wet, and watching Mommy and her friends fo. I have even resorted to bribery!!

It seems she doesnt mind feeling wet (unless her pull up leaks)

She is at day care and they have scheduled bathroom times, sometimes she will sit on the toilet for a few seconds but will get off quickly. Twice in the past couple months she actually peed on the toilet but we think it was just a coincidence, the timing was right, and she had to go anyway.

I have spent entire weekends just concentrating on her and her potty training and she just wont do it. Sometimes she will be eager to sit on the potty or toilet (we have tried both) but she has never actually peed in it,

Any suggestions?

My 2 1/2 year old has thrown up a couple times through out the day and isnt holding food down, but is steadily taking liquids and not dehydrated at all. Hes going to the doctor Monday morning or to the ER sooner if he gets worse.
My question is I bought kids pepto bismal tablets for ages 2 and up but hes having nothing to do with the tablets so I went back to the store and they had more kids tablets, but no liquid form that was safe for a 2 year old.... Is there any medication that will relive his upset stomach?
We are already giving him lots of fluids, popsicles etc. We were just wondering if there was any other relief we could give him.

I have to stop using the changing table. Today, she rolled over and tried to jump from it! :O So I put her on the floor to get her dressed... OMG, it took me like 10 minutes and all the patience I have to get her dressed!! She won't stop trying to crawl away! HOW do I make her sit still? She's only 11 months old, I really don't want to spank her....

Thanks !

I have a 2 year old and he loved taking baths and he finally got used to the idea of washing his hair without crying he had his abth toys and that bath foam and bath crayons but for 2 weeks now he doesn't like taking a bath. He cries when I tell him he's going to take a bath. I give him his bath toys. But he doesn't have his bath foam any more b/c it ate the paint off his crib and I called wal-mart about it. So I quit letting him play with that but he still has his toys nothing will work anymore he cries the whole time he's in the tub and now even when I wash his hair. Any suggestions would be apprecaited.
Thanks. Britney

He's woken up at least 5 times with a bloody nose in the past year. He doesn't have allergies or asthma, and doesn't usually get them at any other time of day. His room isn't especially dry, and it's not that cold. We don't have the heater on. What's going on?

I'd like to put a chair for me in my daughter's room to make some sort of "reading a corner" (sit with her on my lap and read stories).
Can I keep it there even after she's able to climb and get in and out of bed byherself? or will it be dangerous?
Thanks!

the toddler room. Bites that welt up. No incident reports written up most of the time. No reprocusions being taken with the child or children that are biting. I have mentioned this to the director and she says "its a daycare, children will bite." Tells me that I am the bigger "complainer in the room. What can I do about this? May I file a complaint with state? Do I file with the corportate office and the state? ADVICE PLEASE

My little girl is four, and we have a problem. Every night I have to put on a pull-up on her so she wont pee all over the bed. I've taken her to the bathroom right before we go to sleep and she still wakes up with a wet pull-up. Help

We have my boyfriend's son stay over with us every other weekend and he will only eat plain pasta twirls, white bread and butter, and carrot sticks for dinner.
He is good very generally with his food - he does not ask for cakes biscuits and sweets very often and will eat pieces of fruit.
Breakfast is good he loves lightly cooked toast or shreddies.
The key seems to be that he wants everything cut up uniformly and served individually, nothing runny or unidentifiable.
He seems to accept these items if they are served in this way.
I would be grateful for any other ideas other than the one meal he will accept for dinner.. especially for any meat or protein ideas as i cannot find anything he will try!
Thank you in advance!

My 4 year old is currently attending speech class for his limited vocabulary. Most ppl cannot understand 70% of what he says. I'm wondering if he is just a late bloomer, or if by him being so slow and so old it may be a permanent thing such as a learning disability or worse?

I read that you just poke a hole in one oil capsule and squirt the oil into the child's food (once a day) and this is supposed to be beneficial for his brain for at least the first two years of life.

I already asked my pediatrician, and she had no knowledge of what "Neuromins" are (made from sea algae as opposed to fish oil, which can be contaminated with mercury). Therefore, she said she wouldn't recommend them. Has anyone else heard about this?

Hello everybody,
My wife has a postpartum depression and her doctor prescribed her Zoloft …
We were wondering if this drug can have any side effect on her or the kid because she is breastfeeding. I called Pfizer and ask them about it but the answer was …”we do not have any information related to that …there is no study made that can prove any side effect between mothers taking Zoloft and their breastfeeding babies … it’s just a matter of trust between the mother and the doctor who prescribed her the drug … if they considered necessary then she should take it …’’
So …does anybody have any experience related to postpartum depressions and medication? Is there any risk for the baby?
Thank you for the pertinent answers …

My mother in law babysat my daughter from the time she was an infant until she was a little over two. At that time I enrolled her in a daycare (the same one she attended hapily as an infant). She cried every single day I dropped her off for six months. I finally couldn't take it anymore and switched daycares. She has been at this one for a month and is crying harder than ever. My first child never cried at daycare, but attended from birth until kindergarten. What can I do to stop this? I know grandma spoiled her a bit, but shouldn't she be over it by now!
