My 2 1/2 year old has thrown up a couple times through out the day and isnt holding food down, but is steadily taking liquids and not dehydrated at all. Hes going to the doctor Monday morning or to the ER sooner if he gets worse.
My question is I bought kids pepto bismal tablets for ages 2 and up but hes having nothing to do with the tablets so I went back to the store and they had more kids tablets, but no liquid form that was safe for a 2 year old.... Is there any medication that will relive his upset stomach?
We are already giving him lots of fluids, popsicles etc. We were just wondering if there was any other relief we could give him.

I feel for you...it is not easy when they are to little to take most medicines. Not sure what can help that is over the counter, I know some prescriptions that can help, phenergan (sp?) and tigan. Once food is tolerated try the brat diet:
B-bananas
R-rice
A-applesauce
T-toast

Good luck!

Peppermint tea and ginger tea are soothing and calming to an upset stomach. They also have the added benefit of helping keep the person well-hydrated.

I hope your son feels better soon!

Sounds like he has the flue. Pepto will not help. Its more for indigestion. You are already doing everything you can. Just keep him comfortable and filled with liquids. It will pass in a day or so. I know it sucks when he gets sick, but its normal.

see if he will take pediolite...if not maybe flat ginger ale during the day,but not too much,
best to have him take small sips no matter what the liquid is, too much at once will definitely make his upset tummy worse
