I have a 15 month old and he doesn't want to eat anything. Just drink milk. I breastfed him until 12 months old and then he slowly started with not wanting to eat either table food or baby food. It worries me a great deal. His weight is currently 21.8 lbs. I have tried everything. The doctor said that he will eventally eat. I am just a little concerned. He is also taking supplemental drinks such as Nutren Junior a high calorie drink. Any suggestions.

Sincerely,
Nervous Mom

He turned 3 in September and he still puts anything and everything in his mouth. If it doesn't fit in his mouth, he will stand there and lick it. He also licks around his mouth if he doesn't have anything in his hands. I've tried taking things off of him, but he does it with EVERYTHING!

Unfortunately due to medical reasons, our 14 month old son has gotten used to coming to our bed during the night (he has a sleep apnea and we had to constantly watch him to ensure that he was breathing). Now that we have received help for the apnea, we are ready to have him sleep in his own bed. The problem is...I hate to hear him cry. Any suggestions on a better way to encourage him to go to sleep on his own in his bed other than the cry it out method?

My 2 1/2 daughter has a allergy to all of the red dyes, and I am finding it difficult to find "snacks" that my other kids eat without red dye in it. I don't want to bring anything in the house that can hurt my daughter, but also find it unfair to not have some of the foods my sons like and used to eat..Help!!!

**Snacks~ Little Debbies, Gummies(including Vitemens), Popcicles, Anything that is supposed to be fruit flavored (many cereals), snack crackers, And lots more things you wouldn't even think of, It's crazy!

My 10.5 month old little girl had colic from 3 weeks to 5 months. Doctors determined that it was a cow milk/soy protein allergy. I cut out all dairy in my diet and she got better :) I was able to nurse until she was 7 months old. I tried her on nutramigen, allimentum but she was having no part of it. I tried nestle good start dha and ara and we havent had any problems for almost 4 months, not that she drinks the amount that shes supposed to, (20 ounces a day) So I thought she had grown out of her allergy. As she is getting close to a year old and is a picky eater I wanted her to stay on the formula but switch to the #2 made by good start. I tried her on 3 bottles over a weeks time of half old/half new and profuse vomiting within 5 mins of taking bottle. So what do I do when she turns one. Do I try her on the Whole milk, Do I have any other options?? or keep her on the baby formula thats been working so far??

My husband is always getting frustrated at the fact that my daughter, who is 1 1/2, makes a mess when she eats. He says that I don't make any attempt to try to teach her table manners! I try to explain to him that she has to practice eating before she masters it, but he insists that he has known plenty of 1 and 2 year olds who didn't make messes when they ate. He can never name them, though. So, is the way he feels normal?

Hello- My son has had approx. 5-6 ear infections already and he'll be 1 old in a few weeks. We are bringing him to a specialist soon for ear, nose and throat. Anyone out there have in suggestions on how to deal with them, any advice on why they get them so often and anyone who has had kids get tubes at this age? He uses a pacifier at night, naps and when in distress only..could this be a bad thing leading to ear infections?

My son is 31 months old, and knows a lot of words and can repeat back almost any words that are said to him, but seems to have a limited comprehension of what is being said to him. He does not speak full sentences, and can not carry on any kind of meaningful conversation, other than saying what he wants, or doesn't want. i.e. "want milk", or "no night night". I have an appointment with his pediatrician, but in the meantime, I am just curious as to what other parents are experiencing with chidren in the same age range, as far as speech and language are concerned.

My little one will turn one soon. He was eating finger foods off his tray (diced ham, veg's, cheese) and suddenly stopped eating stuff off his try. He will only eat cheese chunks and cheerios in small amounts. I've tried to prepare so many different meals and even give him what we eat..and nothing. He also will not let us spoon feed him anything at times. Occasionally we will get a few spoon full of food in his mouth. He will even skip meals and only drink milk. This has been going on for about a month now. Any ideas? Any suggestions on other foods to try and give him? He gets about 20 oz's of formula a day.

I took her to the doctor before, and all they tell me is " mineral oil " : mix it in her drink, and then they prescribed her this powdered laxative that you mix in her drink.
And they told me to give her an inama,THAT didn't work for me " she basically craped all over me",and last but not least they told me to give her glycerin suppositories .
And feed her a well balanced diet, well I have news : She don't eat!
And she wont use the potty like I want her to. She ALWAYS ends up pooping in her pull up! And when I put regular underwear on her she still pee's and poops in them! I am haveing a REAL hassel with her!
She is my middle child, could she be feeling a "middle child syndrome".
I need ANY advice from some one that KNOWS a little about what I'm going through. PLEASE!
What doctor's tell me and give to me is NOT helping her . She refuses to poop and she crys and whines all day long because she want's to fight it out,and not poop!

We just got a new carseat for my son that is kind of like a booster seat with a back on it and he hates it. This carseat uses that shoulder strap and it goes across his chest. I have tried putting it underneath his arm and over his arm to see if that was the issue but nothing helps. My son is almost 2 years old. He's outgrown the normal carseat that we had him in for almost a year and now we have to use this one. He fusses and cries and whines the whole time he is in this new carseat. He never did this before! Please help. Any suggestions?

My daughter will be a year old Feb 20th. She has never had any health problems or weight issues and is very healthy and of normal height/weight. She didn't get a doctors appointment until a couple weeks after her birthday, so can I go ahead and start giving her whole milk before she sees the doctor for a checkup and shots and stuff? They never told me to wait or anything! Also, she takes around 24 ounces of formula right now in one day. How many ounces of whole milk should she be drinking in a day? And how often to offer it? Will I be changing to three main meal times every day with snacks, where she drinks the majority or all of her milk at the mealtimes?? And what about bedtime? Just for further information, we will be ditching the bottles as soon as we transition to whole milk. She already has dropped bottles out of 2 of her 4 formula feedings every day. Thanks for any helpful information!

i was talking to another mother and told her my kid goes to bed at 11 pm and wakes up at 10:30 am. i am a stay at home mom, so i don't see the reasoning behind putting her to bed early and waking her up early. ofcourse when i start bak to work in a few months, we will change her sleeping patterns, but she told me i was being a bad mother? anyone have any reasoning why people tink your child HAS TO be in bed by 8 pm?

She wakes up in the middle of the night crying with her legs hurting. I am wondering could this just be "growing pains" or is it something that I should have checked out?

I have a toddler who turned two in august. She sleeps with her pacifier and that is it. If it is missing, she will cry in her bed for 2 hours straight until somehow it turns up. I cut a whole in the tip of it so there is no longer any suction, but she still likes it in her mouth. Again she only sleeps with it and it doesn't come out of her bed. Did you worry about it or did you take it away? If so, how did you do it and how long did your little one scream about it?
