She seems to have no control with urinating. She sits on toilet and is understanding the routine, but not understanding holding it until getting to toilet. Are there any good potty training books for learning delayed children. Any good advice?

I would like to know which place is the best for a toddler bed to be in my 2 year olds bedroom in accordance to fire safety? I have heard different opinions on the location of the bed to the window for safety reasons. I know that it should not be placed under the window, but should it be closer to her window or closer to her door? Her door and window are on oposite sides of her room.

We're in the military and our son has autism. I was wondering if there were any special grants or organizations that could help us? We're in the lower part of the pay scale. We also have a daughter, but so far no signs of autism with her. Thanks.

My two year old son just now started sleeping on his own. He was sleeping with his father and myself.
To get him to sleep we pop in a movie, and wait until he falls asleep. the problem we are now experianceing is, he wakes up in the mild of the night, and climbs in to bed with us. We find him there, and bring him back to his bedroom, then come to find him lying in bed with us again in the morning.

My son is now 32 months old a couple of months ago i tried to get him out of nappies with no luck , he's now nearly 3 we are going in feb on a disney cruise ,providing he is toilet trainned he can go in the 3-5 yr kids club with his sister aged 5! which he will be devestated if he can't go with her so i have given myself and him 4 weeks to get him out of nappies.
Today is the first day of which i have changed tactics like the get them trainned in 3 days method!I had a tea party with his teddies in his underpants, got him taking them to the potty, after about 45 mins removed his nappy and started to prompt him, well i had 6 wet pairs of pants, 2 hits on the potty which were only prompted by catching him starting a wee and running and sitting him on there but got some in there with BIG claps and praise! Shortly after he just squatted and poohed on the lounge rug!!I know i just have to stick with it, just wondered if anybody had any ideas to help the process, experience or idea's?

my son is 16 month old and since he was 3 months old, he has slept for 12 hours every night between 8 and 8 with a nap during the day. now recently, the past week, he has been waking up at 4am and not going back to sleep for at least two hours. i've tried cuddling him, giving him paracetamol, cooling him down, and nothing will send him back to sleep he doesn't seem unwell at all. i can tell he's still tired, but every time he puts his head down he starts crying again. not only is this driving us crazy, but i'm worried that something might be wrong, or am i being a paranoid mum. does every child go through this? is it just a phase? or are my full nights sleep over and done with???

Wal-Mart no longer carries onesies beyond 18 months and I've also tried Target and other brands. It seems that most stores I've been to don't carry onesies in bigger sizes. I like putting them underneath my son's (who is 2) clothes and pajamas. They seem to help keep his pants up too since he has such a skinny waist. Any suggestions?

my grandaughter will not do as she is told. i asked her to have a bath, sometimes she runs away she would not do it, so i ended up putting her in their with her top on and pants and washed her hair she is nine, and told her to go to bed, she will not. At school she does not do as the teachers say, she wants her own way all the time, she is banging walls now and will not go to bed and i feel like smacking her. i am sick and tired of it all, she has been excluded from school for hitting kids and not cooperating, why does she act like this.

My 4 year old son still has to wear pull ups at night and rarely wakes up with a dry one. How can I train him to wake up at night? We do not give him any liquids after 7 p.m. and even wake him up around 10-11 p.m. to potty before we go to bed. We also wake him early int he morning and march straight to the restroom. Poor baby! Some nights are better than others, but I am worried that this might be a habit that will be embarrasing and hard to break as he gets older! Please help!!!

I am desperate to be someone other than a mom for a short time. I have been - for the most part - a very dedicated and patient and loving mom for the last 3 1/2 years (my son is 3 1/2). Lately, I've been losing my temper more than I like. More importantly, I just don't seem to find any joy in being a parent anymore. I sit there feigning interest in playing with them, but I desperately want to be doing something more interesting.

I stopped breastfeeding the second child about a month ago (the 2 kids overlapped), so this is the first time it is actually possible for me to go away. I've got a break from teaching and my husband is willing to look after the kids while I go to India (one of my most favorite places ever) for a week. I feel like I would do my family much more good if I could replenish myself a bit and find my joy again. On the other hand, I fear that I could really damage my little girl, who - while she adores her daddy - is still fiercely attached to me. I'm torn.
