I am buying a playstation 2 for my four year old son. He loves cars, four wheelers, fire trucks, etc. You know, boy stuff! I am looking for some games good for his age group. Any suggestions?

My son is five but has been playing since he was 3. There is a series of games called Spyro, he's a dragon. Of you can find the first one for the ps1 it will play in the ps2 and still worth the mooney. They also have Spyro the something Tale, it was good and fun and I'm assuming that a parent will help him or play with him, and it's fun for adults.
Barnyard was good
Cars was cute.
Curious George. I forgot about that one but just asked my son and it was great!
Sitting Ducks is great for kids
My street was good for the kids.
there are quite a few, besides these I would suggest looking up and calling your local Gamestop or whichever gaming store you have in your area and ask them to recommend or just go there and ask them to recommend games for that age group. Good luck and Happy New Year.

I has a whole list of games for you (advising you to get a Nintendo Gamecube instead of a PS2...as the latter is more mature). My 16 year old son just came home and I asked him for advice. Here it is:

"Tell her not to get him ANY video games when he's that young. I got totally addicted to them" (he had Nintendo 64) and it really messed with my imagination and ability to write! Wait until he's about 10 and is doing well in writing and art. If I had had the choice and the wisdom, I'd have gotten a game system WAY later!"

From the mouths of babes!

Well for a 4 year old you should try the animal games like over the hedge. Also there are some sponge bob square pants games too.Just go to walmart and look in the ps2 game section and see if they have some kids games. If you cant find any try and ask someone there.

Try the older spyros(the new one is not that easy for a 4 year old). Also try Madagascar, or CTR(Crash Team Rasing) or any other Crash Bandicoot video games. Sonic Heros is also pretty good, pac-man is always fun, happy feet, Cartoon Network Racing, or Cars.

do your son a favor and help him be successful in school. And that means skipping any video game sets for kids this young. They tend to get addicted to these things, and the behavior at school becomes more aggressive. Kids that use alot of video games at home (and started at young ages) tend to complain they are bored at school and will not want to do school work (desk work)(listening to instructions). That emans they give their teacher the 'blues' when asked to do anything deemed 'boring'.

There aren't any. Four year olds don't need to be glued to a video game for entertainment, they need to be outside running and playing, using their imaginations, expanding their intelligence.
