When my oldest two children were 2 1/2 they slept about 12 hours at night and took a two hour nap. My youngest slept for about 12 hours at night and did not take a nap, if he did he was up until 11pm.

Toddlers should be getting from 12-14hrs of sleep total. That can break up differently depending on how good of a napper your kid is.
