Sure mine loves peanuts fresh cracked from the shell. If you are worried just make a sandwich out of chunky peanut butter and see how the kiddie does on that. If you want to give them actual peanuts afterwards make sure that they are seated while eating the peanuts and split the peanut in half.

I assume you mean out of the shell. Yes. It's ok. My 3 yr. old loves them. They are not big enough to be a choking hazard. The only thing to really worry about is allergies. If he/she hasn't had peanuts before only let him/her eat one or two and watch him/her for a few hours to make sure there is no bad reaction. If all is a-ok after that time go ahead and let him/her eat them.

Yes-as long as no allergies run in your family. But be very careful because peanuts are a major choking hazard.Cut them into tiny pieces before giving them to your toddler.
Maybe try peanut butter instead?

Peanuts (whole nuts really) are listed as one of the 7 things the AAP recommends that you DO NOT give your children who are under the age of seven because they are choking hazards. I'd hold off on the whole peanuts.

If your kid isn't allergic (and there isn't any reason to believe he could possibly be allergic... such as one of his parents already being allergic).... then I am pretty sure your 3 1/2 can safely eat a whole peanut... my son can eat a whole peanut, and he is only just two.

Small hard foods are still considered a choking hazard, but you should be able to tell whether or not your child is ready to eat them. Does your child eat other foods well? Does you child understand that all food must be chewed before swallowed? Really, at this age, it's up to you as the parent to gage when your child is ready.

I would say if your child understands the knowing of having to chew the peanut almost fully before swallowing to be able to eat it correctly, I would say go ahead, BUT but knowing children and knowing that you can never always count on the young ones to be knowledgeable all the time, I would say to split them in half and let them enjoy them to be on the safe side.

As long as he has enough teeth to chew them properly. 3 1/2 is is a pretty good age to assume they can eat most foods and not have issues.

I would think so, but I would watch him closely first. My kids could handle it, but I know kids that couldn't. For example: My 18 month old twins can eat an apple, if you give them one. But I know a little boy that's over two now, who can not eat an apple without choking on it!
Let him have them, in his highchair. That way you're right there in case. I think he'll do just fine.

Of course!
Great protein filled snack. Just remind the kiddo to chew and not be running around since they are so small.
